    2. Some Bev tips if anyone is going?

Stes tips today best of the rest and a longshot at GOODWOOD

This is everything today for VIP ✅

    1545 beverley- PETRA CELERA 2/1 - 1 point win

Was actually struggling with this race last night as petra and indication spirit were both entered & both won for us last week but I'd eventually settled on indication spirit, that's now a non runner and is entered for a race tomorrow so hopefully petra can win today for us and we'll be back on indication tomorrow, do have the favourite to beat who's going for the hatrick after just four career starts but she's up 8lb here taking Planas's 5lb claim into account and I just think petra could take advantage of that with her mark untouched after her easy enough win five days ago over 6f and Sam Feilden now jumping in the saddle with his 7lb claim, dropping back to 5f I don't think will be much of an issue the conditions suit and she won comfortably enough lto to give the impression she'd be able to follow up for yard doing well with these owners horses at the minute.

    1655 Beverley- PURPLE MARTINI 9/4 - 1 point win

Can make cases for a few of these but been following Martini after she got off the mark at the fifth attempt on her first start of the year and I think she's worth keeping on side here, there's been two winners come out of that race since and the first and third in her next race when 4th upped in class have also won since & her latest win three starts ago over 7f has also produced some decent winners with the runner up (b associates) & the third (Gone) both banging in the hatrick since so her form stacks up well and even though she put in a below par effort after that she again ran another decent race lto to finish third behind two nto winners so she comes into this in decent form proven over the distance and the grounds not an issue, jockeys got two wins on board the yards horses are running well enough and she's only 3lb higher than for her last win so she shouldn't have any excuses to not go close here with the only negative being she's only won in class 6 and this being a class 5, powdering and clotherholme probably the main dangers.

    1535 soldiers gold 14/1 EW 0.5 ew

Soldiers gold may well find it tough stepping into group company but we've been on him the last twice now so think it's worth sticking with him here at an eachway price, only fourth on debut in a class 2 with 4 in that field winning nto and he built on that dropped to a class 4 finishing runner up on his start after at Newbury, despite being hampered at the start, no mistakes on his next two starts though winning both pretty comfortably the latest over 6f at Ascot and he seems to of really started putting it together and is progressing nicely, this step up to 7f I think will bring out more improvement and the yard won this back in 2015, big step up for him here off of 10lb higher and he does need to reverse the form with Thunder blue and Son but I think he's well worth a eachway here.

    Ste and Aidans tips

1425 Goodwood- MATILDA PICOTTE 9/1 EW 0.5 ew

Feeling quite bullish on matilda tomorrow and she's a nice price, quickly put her in my tracker after her listed win at Newmarket over 6f in October with the third going in at group level since and had to wait until April this year to see her out again, she didn't disappoint with a good runner up to the AP O'Brian's Never Ending Story in the group 3 1,000 guineas trial stakes at Leapardstown on heavy ground and had Zarinsk behind who won three of his next four starts all at group level. Built on that with her next start when running a cracker in the group 1 Quipco 1,000 guineas at Newmarket finishing third behind Mawja & Tahiyra who went and won the Irish guineas nto and then the coronation stakes afterwards & she kept up her form on her latest start with a fourth place finish to little big bear in a group 2 at Haydock with the third that day winning a group 1 nto. That's some of the best form on offer in the field I'd say and she's had a few of these behind her in the past, return to 7f I thinks a plus and any rain won't bother her having won on GS & placed on soft and heavy, I think she's definitely capable of winning in group company and I think she has a great chance here in what looks weaker than what she's contested in this year, really struggling to find any negatives with her in this and I hope she takes the lead and stays there, I think she's way over priced and will probably go off shorter but with 4 places on offer at an eachway price that would be the best bet and there's bookies paying four places, I'm on to win meself but I'd be very disappointed if she weren't in the top 3 for this.

    5.20 - ISLA KAI 12/1 0.5 ew

ISLA KAI has now dropped to the same mark as his last success which came at Ripon in a Class 3 handicap back in April. Fairly versatile ground-wise so with the rain forecasted it shouldn’t affect this one’s chances. His subsequent form has been a bit up and down lately and will need to take a step forward here but has every chance of doing so and looks a good each way angle in this race with 5 places on offer.

1752 Sandown- MR PROFESSOR 25/1 EW 0.5 ew

Taking a chance on the outsider here who is having his first start for the yard after moving from Haynes stable, he was a listed winner back in 2021 with westover behind who went on and won the group 1 Irish Derby and had a couple of decent runs after but he failed to get his head infront in 12 starts before giving it ago in dubai which didn't go well with him going no better than 7th over there this year and he finished dead last on his return to the Uk in a class 2 at wolves going off at 66/1 in march although 8 of the 13 in the field have all won since, returns now after 144 days off still 5lb higher than when beating westover in listed company but Owen Lewis's 5lb claim puts him on that same mark and he's the highest rated in the field dropping down to a class 4 for the first time since his third career start so this has to be the easiest race he's probably contested in since the start of his career, he's proven over the distance the ground should be fine and although he seriously needs to start showing some form I think the stable switch could be what he needs and worth taken a chance eachway, Maplewood is the other outsider and I think he could possibly be the main danger returning from 417 days off who's also having his first start for a new stable having left the Godolphins for 27,000, he won once from five starts there and would probably be shorter odds if he was still at his previous stable.

Big Evs is a horse named after my relative Paul Evans. He was a big racing fan and when he passed away last year, his friend named his horse after him. It won against the odds at Ascot (25/1) and our whole family had money on him. Very touching day.

Needless to say I will be having a flutter on him again today!

    1 point wins

    Few from me guys

    2.25 SKETCH 3/1

    3.00 CHESSPIECE 4/1

3.35 BLUE ROSE CEN 1/1 NAP 2 point win - (small save AL HUSN 11/1 -0.5 ew)

Taking on the favourites in the 2.25 and 3.00. Oisin Murphy can pick up where he left off yesterday with SKETCH who is a winning debutant with more to come. The fav win a class 5 by 1/4 length where as SKETCH won a class 4 by 5 lengths on debut. I can’t work out why fav is 6/4 and SKETCH is 3/1 here other than the fact that the fav was an expensive buy at 600,000 Guineas.

CHESSPIECE just won on Good-soft so he should handle the ground and looks the value in this race at 4/1. I track CHESSPIECE and I’ve never seen him run a bad race. Ryan Moore is on the fav who has handle heavy conditions previously so he’s the obvious danger but the values with the tracker horse.

BLUE ROSE CEN is a special horse. I would say this is my NAP of the week. I’ve bet against her all season in France on heavy ground, soft ground and on good ground. She has destroyed everyone. NASHWA is back to her best - everyone wrote her off after Newcastle when she was comfortably beaten by AL HUSN. Why he’s 11/1 and NASHWA 5/2, I’m not sure. AL HUSN is the unexposed here but I genuinely think BLUE ROSE CEN is the best 3 year old in Europe, even better than Paddington… let’s hope she does the job and handles travelling from France in her stride.

Will have the other races out as soon as we can guys ❤️

Good morning all STES selections for Goodwood and best of the rest.

My tips will not be posted until around 12.30 latest as running behind this morning

    GOODWOOD

    1350 Goodwood- CRACK SHOT 16/1 EW & ENTRACEMENT 25/1 EW 0.5 ew

Crack shot left is debut behind to win at Nottingham over slightly shorter next time out and put on another good run with a runner up to odds on Botanical at Hamilton lto, the son of Kingman was conceding 7lb to that rival who looks promising and he was eased inside the final furlong finishing 4 lengths behind that winner, makes his handicap debut here 1lb out the handicap but he's only had 3 starts so you'd expect there to me more to come so he could be on a decent opening mark here, Saffie takes the ride who's in good form with this looking the best chance of a winner for her today and worth a eachway at 16s. ENTRACEMENT I think is over priced here at 25s, won one from six starts for his previous yard before getting his head infront on just his second start for this yard in a class 5 on heavy ground over course and distance in May winning easily and he put up another good effort nto finishing runner up upped in class carrying a 13lb penalty at Salisbury last month. Down 1lb here upped two classes and he's already proven over CD and on heavy ground plus he could have more to come for this yard yet, plenty in his favour here just needs to improve again and if he does I think he'll be up there at the finish.

1645 goodwood- ROARING SUCCESS 9/1 EW 0.5 ew

Tough handicap to predict this one but think it's worth siding with the hatrick seeking Roaring Success who has been improving with every start, she finished last year with a win over this distance at wolves on just her third career start and she made a winning handicap debut back from 231 days off in a class 3 at Ascot last month beating the inform Bernadine by just over a length, the form of her last 3 races stacks up well with plenty of winners coming out of those and although up 5lb in a tougher race she's probably got more to come, whether she'll handle the heavy ground I don't know but she's unexposed and in good form so she looks worth chancing at an eachway price with the stables only other runner on the card Man of Eden also looking like he could run well at an ew price.

    BEST OF THE REST

    1618 Stratford- ALIOMAANA 3/1 - 1 point win

Aliomaana has won 4 times over hurdles twice coming over course and distance and she's just 2lb higher than for the latest of those lto in a class 3 on her second start of the year back from a break, she drops in class and clearly likes it here having won twice and placed once from four visits all over course and distance and she also won comfortably last year in this class off of 5lb higher over 1m 7f at Wincanton, no reason why she can't go close again if the ground stays good and Harry Reed retains the ride.

1805 Newcastle- MY ROXANNE 11/2 EW 0.5 ew

Can sometimes miss the break and can be slow at the start but My Roxanne has been very consistent this year picking up two wins and three third place finishes from 7 starts showing much improvement from her first four career starts last year, both her wins have come on this surface the latest being over course and distance two starts a go when always doing enough and she had every chance upped 3lb lto at Ayr but for not getting a clear run eventually finishing third, her marks untouched here and a repeat of that should see her up there at the finish in a weak looking race.

    Here’s Stes selections today ✅

All welcome to follow I personally won’t be having a bet outside of gooodwood

    BANGOR

    1445 Bangor-SHOKOLOV COCKTAIL 4/1 - 1 point win

Cocktails only had the two starts so there's not to much to go on here but I quickly put her in my tracker after her second career start where she finished runner up over 1m 7f at Southwell, she had every chance there and could of possibly won if for not making a big mistake at the last jump nearly unseating the rider but she still managed to finish within four lengths of the winner no way pedro who won nto, step up in trip should suit and she's the only one that really stands out in this weak looking contest, hopefully she can get her head infront at the third attempt.

1520 Bangor- INCE PRINCE 7/1 EW

Few in this race that I've not long removed from me tracker but prince is one I've left in and he returns here after 77 days off and wind surgery off of 3lb lower than for his last win over slightly further in two classes higher than this and I'm hoping today's the day to catch him, will need to improve on his four efforts this year but he weren't beaten far lto and the recent wind op could help him return to form and his last 3 wins all come off of higher marks, should find things easier in this class and worth chancing.

    1630 bangor- GAVIN 2/1 - 1 point win

Gavin I thinks a worthy favourite here, he's won three of his five starts this year (2 for this yard after switching in may) the latest coming off a 4lb lower mark over 1m 7f and he didn't run to badly upped to a class 2 on his latest outing when finishing 5th, drops down 3 classes here for a yard in great form not to mention Sean bowens form at the minute aswell, only had the four starts for this yard and probably has more to come off this sort of mark, the hood goes on which could help and he looks the one to beat.

    1740 Bangor- GOLD LINK 7/2 - 1 point win

Couple in this have been running well but I was on gold link the other week and he was a comfortable 8 length winner there having his second start after a wind op, that was only his first career win from 10 starts and also the third time he'd had a wind op although he had finished second 5 times from his previous starts and he could continue his progression now he looks like he's putting it all together with the drop in trip I don't think being much of an issue and he's not a bad price at 7/2 fav

    NEWMARKET

    2030 Newmarket- MAXI BOY 12/1 EW 0.5

Kevin stott I think has a few decent rides over the next few days, he's at Newmarket today with two rides this looking the strongest then he's over in France tomorrow for one ride in a listed contest then he's back here tomorrow for one ride on board Flaccianello who I have in me tracker but onto maxi boy who is at an eachway price here, returned from over 400 days off to finish 4th at Leicester over this distance probably needing the run but he seemed to go backwards on his latest start when 11/12 over CD last month, he's been an expensive one to follow this one losing all 15 starts since his debut win although he was tried at group 2 level early on in his career and was a good third in a group 2 over CD back in 2019 when with M Bell, back down to a class 4 here with place form over CD and I'm hoping the cheekpeices can bring him to life today.

    GOODWOOD

    1720 MASO BASTIE 4/1 - 1 point win

Missed the eachway price on this one as he was as high as 10s last night, only had the four career starts with form reading 4113 and he's probably got more improvement to come then some of the others in the Field, the runner up in both of his wins have gone on to win since plus the winner of his last race was involved in 3 way photo finish the other week and his marks untouched for that latest effort and with the soft ground not being an issue, still unexposed and should go well.
