I had an interesting bet the other day. Might be of interest to some. 888sport were offering insurance on first or anytime TD scorer in their NFL market up to £20. I put a bet on a 6.0 (5/1). I then sold this on Smarkets (a popular exchange), but only part of this was matched as liquidity is a bit **** on NFL other than moneyline (match result). I left the balance to go in play but didn't expect it to be matched. My current outcomes were either win £100 or break even. Woke up next morning and when I checked I'd lost at the exchange and Lost at 888, so down about £120 but with £20 to be refunded. Either way, this shouldn't happen, so I started checking. The player had scored a touchdown, so I should have won at 888. I checked my bets then contacted support. While I was awaiting a response, I was refunded £20 as per the offer. Support responded and corrected the outcome and credited the bet (£120 inc stake), but letting me keep the refund. This bet also qualified me for a daily free bet of £5 for having a 4/1 winner. Now I was £25 up plus balance of matched bet, which was about £8. I checked the matched bet as I was surprised that the unmatched portion had actually matched in play. It was matched at almost the exact time of the event which was a bit suss. I contacted Smarkets support and asked them to investigate, which I didn't expect them to to do. Smarkets actually investigated and found that it was matched after the TD was scored (wtf?) and credited my lay. End result from a norisk bet was I was £125 up.

Ah, the joys of in play match betting. Smarkets is very often short on liquidity pre event, never mind in play. Pleased you came out winning.
To be honest, on racing and football Smarkets pretty much mirrors betfair these days for both odds and has lots of liquidity. My commission on Smarkets varies between 0% and 2% compared to Betfair's 5% on the package I use so I mainly use smarkets although I still use Betfair once or twice a day. I use Matchbook occasionally or specials but Betdaq is pretty much unusable on mobile so don't use unless they have a market that isn't available elsewhere.
Yeah, quite happy with it as it was a nice bonus. I normally make about £100 per week so it doubled the week.
