Loved that. Nice to have some players that can phyiscally bully/intimidate when needed. Sakho is the same.
He played okish yeserday and is starting to put some good challenges in, but on the ball he is still terrible and I really hope we don't keep him.
All the time we're winning it's ok because we can all have a laugh and he becomes a bit of a cult hero.... But in all seriousness he's no where near good enough. When you think if the teams and games he's played in his career makes you wonder how he can be quite so bad! Being shown up by a 20 year old who this time last year was just about good enough for our reserves!
I think the lad is slowly growing in confidence and getting better. I've said "it's his best game yet" after the last three or four games now.
He's just not good enough. No matter how he improves he will never be good enough. Not really a BR player in that he has no ability on the ball. In our set up the full backs play a really important part and have got to be a lot lot better than cissokho. He's just another Traore !
Despite me saying he is getting better, I agree with you. It would take another five years at the current rate of improvement I don't think he great on the ball but I think he is better than most give him credit for. He just looks at odds because of his frame, much like Sakho does.
That's true but sakho has good passing ability. Don't know what Rodgers saw in cissokho to bring him in the first place. Shame we couldn't have got Bertrand .
I think Cissokho's passing is alright but not good enough for us. He has good strength and power, plus he's capable of running (albeit, in a straight line towards a blind alley) with the ball. His positioning, tackling and crossing are all very poor though.
For a player of his size his tackling is very poor and rarely wins a 50/50. Compare that to flanno who really snaps into the tackle.
Yeah I do now. Have been really impressed at how he's responded to being frozen out. Thought his time at the club was over. Puts Johnson's commitment to shame. In fact it's great to see him and sterling coming through. Hope ibe can progress next season. Really like the look of him. Wisdom to come back with a seasons experience ( good experience too playing near top of championship)
I liked Flanno the first time he got into the team and was surprised that he was omitted like he was. Brod praise him and encouraged him on Being Liverpool too. I love his 100% committed attitude and work rate; Carragher-esque. I rate Ibe higher than Sterling in terms of potential, just a question of whether he can follow Raheem's footsteps and make the step up.
Well, again, I thought sterling had blown it somewhat last season. Seemed to let all the praise go to his head esp after signing a new contract but he has really stepped up recently and now looks an integral part of the team. However, like you, I think ibe has the potential to be even better. COuld be an interesting battle over the next couple of seasons.
But he WAS good enough only two years ago. You don't just lose ability (unless you're Torres ), but you can lose confidence. He WAS a great LB, he just needs to refind that form fast.
Don't know about that but as I see him now he looks pretty poor. Can only comment on the here and now . If Torres can lose it I'm sure cissokho can too.
I think he has rediscovered his defensive ability - looks a lot more solid now. Will be interesting to see who BR's targets are for this position.
I have to be fair and say he played ok against a pretty bloody decent team. I've given him plenty for being a total donkey so it's only fair to say well done for at least looking like you give a ****...even when you're playing **** Do I think he's good enough or will improve enough? Unlikely but being involved in a 4-0 against the bitters and 5-1 against the goons gets him a bit more cult cred
I never watched him so I won't comment too much, just want to point out that it was in the French league which although its not the poorest league around, its not a England, Spain, Italy or Germany is it?
