Been thinking a lot about this window recently and in my opnion the best we can hope for is a James Tompkins type figure for 4 million ish and Jordan Rhodes for a similar fee.
That would make to British, young players trying to make a name for themselves for a combined fee of 8m ish.

£8M budget yet we're spending £8-10M on a left back? Not saying i wouldnt love him, but we're hardly in desperate need of a fullback are we?
Santon, Simpson, Taylor, Ferguson and Tavernier... Pardew himself saying Tav has looked 'sensational' since returning from loan.
Id have put a striker, a winger and a centre back above on priority.

I didn't say it was you alone, it was all you lot on general chat. I avoid it. I've been made aware of the jokes etc. about both Amy W and Gary Speed, and it was just wrong. These are people, families and friends going through the hardest week of their lives, and all you can do is take the mick out of them for being selfish (rather than clinically depressed or whatever other lies? Just think how you'd feel if your brother, father, son, cousin, friend or whatever suffered a tragedy like this? Speedgate and jokes about Amy W's death are just fundamentally distasteful and unfunny.
