If you read their message boards (an you will need to wear incontinence pants if you do) they reckon they need a whole new midfield.
I did read the link that was posted yesterday. Was funny but a major overreaction. They have a load of centre mids who (apparently) aren't performing, but they have no width at all. I would be surprised if they looked to buy a new centre midfielder before addressing the winger situation
I am aware that Nick doesn't rate Basso, though I can't understand why and things may have changed since Gulasci has improved, but we did initially have a keeper short-list and it included De Vries, Harper and Kirkland. I'm also aware that Nick rates Oli, my suggestion that he might go was based purely on the fact that he's on too much money and if someone did come in for him, we'd like him off the wage bill(though the fact he hasn't played yet obviously makes this less likely). Do you think Cairney might be on his way, maybe on loan?
I don't think anyone will be leaving (that Barmby rates) unless we are offered really stupid money. With 'only' £10 million to spend, Captain Charisma will avoid any Hull City players, as he needs lots of new faces in and fast. By the time he's managed to prise just one player off Assem Allam, his transfer kitty will be totally shot. Enough of that, we should focus on the incomings: http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=news&news_id=806
This is great this is!!! It's like a battle between Premier and Scoots as to who has the better inside information!!!! please log in to view this image
I definitely think the improvement of Gullasci has changed the managements team thought on a new keeper. NB would be more than happy to let Cairney go, but it depends on what happens in January first. I know we are looking at another midfielder (on loan), but nothing certain there at all, so if that happens that TC could well go, if not then he stays and is used as a last resort when needed.
Fooking hell, did they just read the info on here and post an article collating it all (I honestly never read CI, so have no idea how/where they get their info from). I'm confident my info is more reliable.
I post on both(as do several others), so anything of significance does get posted on both boards and it does look like they've collated it, though CI do have contacts at the club and do quite often break stories(including being the first to say that Nick will become permanent manager on Friday).
Interesting stuff. It's pretty obvious that nobody rates Cairney any more, and you ghet the impression he just feels sorry for himself about it rather than doing anything about it. It's a shame because you'd think he was the 1st choice to go into midfield if we lost McKenna or Evans, and he is a very talented player. The 'keeper thing seems weird to me, Basso must be fit enough to play if they don't want to sign a new one, you'd think so anyway. I'd be surprised if the player attracting interest ins't Chester. He is without doubt the most talented player we have on our books.
But if the player attracting interest was Chester we'd presumably have identified targets to replace him if he went, but premiertiger says that we don't??
It doesn't add up does it, but basing it only on the positions PT says we are interested in would maybe suggest a winger, but apparently it isn't Stewart. He says we want a midfielder so maybe Evans? Doubt it though. Most likely Chester or Hobbs.
Centre Half I'd bring back Gerrard, knows the club and I thought he was bloody brilliant in his season here. Chipped in with a few goals too.
