I read 'God Is Not Great' while on holiday in Canada last year and to be honest I hadn't known much of Hitchens before reading the book - but it was hard not to admire the guy and how he tackled the subject in hand. Not only did he get the boot into those voodoo worship people more elegantly than I ever could muster, he also did it much more convincingly than people who were maybe considered more intellectual, such as Dawkins.

Dawkins is more the thinker, while Hitchens was better able to express what needed to be said. He was a writer.

I'm dismayed at the number of people here who haven't heard of Hitchens. Have you been living in a cave?

I’m not sure if Archer was actually peddling Pascal’s Wager here or just making an excuse for the odd apparent deathbed conversion.
