The Battle of M&Ms"

Whenever I get a packet of M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue
the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this
end, I hold M&M duels.

Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply
pressure, squeezing them together until one of them cracks
and splinters. That is the "loser," and I eat the inferior one
immediately. The winner gets to go another round.

I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are
tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I
have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive
long in the intense theatre of competition that is the modern
candy and snack-food world.

Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen,
or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this
proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives
the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to
adapt to its environment.

When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the
strongest of the herd. Since it would make no sense to eat this
one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M
Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., along with a 3x5 card reading,
"Please use this M&M for breeding purposes."

This week they wrote back to thank me, and sent me a coupon
for a free 1/2 pound bag of M&Ms. I consider this "grant money."
I have set aside the weekend for a grand tournament. From a field
of hundreds, we will discover the true champion.

I've unbanned some of th Chelsea fans didn't make a bloody poll either I just did it. It's worked out fine too.. So far.

 

As you can see, the majority of posters here do not wish to avail themselves of his particular brand of unpleasantness so your opinion doen't matter. Do what you want on the Manc board and we'll require our mods to work within the ethos that exists here.

I agree Dave if the majority are happy with the way things are there's no need to change it, the people who like the more full on banter have to visit another board. Any wum requesting a ban lifted will be given a chance and the type of wum has to be considered people like Sm1thy are an annoyance but don't get abusive so have to be tolerated to some degree CS would probably be more full on so I can see why people don't want him back.

 

He's never mentioned steps songs, and promised not to call you retarted deluded scousers on your own board.

I don't reckon he'd actually post much.

If you Unban him I will consider unbanning donga. It's been a while since we have all been bored to tears with a Suarez conspiracy thread.

 

It's a non starter mate too many don't want it and are happy with life at the moment.

The way I see it is. That this is not a democracy. It's a football forum set up to be the antithesis of the bbc site.

So to ban people for merely winding folks up goes against the very reason this site is here. The only people banned from our board just spammed it. With out entering into debate. It should be modded as such.

The way I see it if you can't cope with banter or a differing opinion then you should all join the tin hat brigade on rawk.

You've posted more pornographic images than you have football discussions.

I know it means **** all but the site technically has rules that state:

Posting articles that quote your own fans' predictions for your position at Christmas, or speculating that RVP won't play another game at Utd (how much longer is it now?) isn't listed there

So just admit you only do what you feel like and stop with the attempts to convince yourself or anyone else otherwise

It's hardly really upsetting in the grand scheme of things. You should all man up and give him a chance. See if you can have a reasoned debate with him. If he just derails threads without being provoked the. Ban him again. Hardly a tough job doing so.

This was exactly the problem with Sm1thy, which was why he was banned. He wasn't offensive, just offered little in the way of debate and it gets boring. Like an annoying kid trying to get attention by being disruptive. Now he's unbanned, will he be different? Hope so, but who knows? If he isn't, I imagine he'll just get banned again.

I don't see there's much point in you trying to take the moral high ground in this, nobody gets banned from this board on a whim, there's always a valid reason.
If the board becomes like a load of monkeys hurling abuse at each other from the safety of their own tree, then I suspect we'll lose more posters than we'll gain.

 

Sweats, if you follow that line of logic then it could be applied to yourself.
