Noisy rumours that we're close to signing Atsu on loan from Chelsea. Hasn't set the world on fire whilst on loan at Everton or Bournemouth.
Signing some pace with him and Yedlin. He was close to joining us before he went to Chelsea. Seemed to have raw talent but not progressed and taken his chances in England. Step down to Champ could be what he needs and his pace will definitely frighten some defenders.
According to Skysports Atsu is set to sign on loan with an option to buy. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...tsu-set-to-join-newcastle-on-loan-sky-sources Has played predominantly as a right winger but is left footed. Likely our final signing and therefore our starting left winger unless Gouffran continues to impress. Would have liked someone a little more Knockaert, but oh well.
He looked very good a few years ago but hasn't pushed on. Still only 24 and I like that we have an option to purchase, don't see much risk in this and if he finds form then certainly potential from it. Plus we needed another winger.
Kids got extreme pace. He'll do well for is in the championship especially once we get these big boys playing up front.
Like who? Who realistically do you think we can sign who is better and willing to come to a Championship club??
Personally I don't understand why PL level players aren't lining up to play at Burton this season, its baffling...
Posted on another thread that he is expected to have his medical today or tomorrow. Guess what? He's at the training ground now having the medical. Will be unveiled either later tonight or tomorrow.
Exactly - which is why I hadn't considered him. Ultimately, we can covet any player in the world but if his existing club don't wish to sell his registration then it doesn't matter one iota
Yes but they explore every avenue? For example could we not have tried the old kidnap and waterboarding approach.
Atsu is a bit of an enigma. Without doing that much Chelsea signed him as a teenager for his potential and he's never played for them. The question is just who the real Atsu is: a) the player who won Player of the Tournament and Goal of the Tournament in last years African Nations b) the player who was recalled from a loan to Bournemouth early last season as after 4 months he hadn't won a single league appearance for them Based on what I've learned from Sissoko in the last year I'm keeping my hope high and my expectations low.
