He's not a bad player don't get me wrong, but not a patch on the player he was before being injured. We've already offered the biggest paid contract in our history and he's said no, best for everyone he leaves ASAP as no player should be able to hold us to ransom in my opinion anyway..

    Red Robin
'He wants out and is playing with no heart'
You may well be right that Maynard wants out but - 'playing with no heart' ????
With the sh*t supply he get's it's no wonder why the poor sod looks pi**ed off - he's been fighting a losing battle. Perhaps judge him after playing with company up front.
    Judge him ??? don't need to - Maynard's class.

Agreed Redprint.......I don't believe since Nicky's been at the club has he had descent supply.
Red Robin......Where does all this not playing with heart.....never heard so much rubbish. Are you saying that he wonders around doing nothing???? IMO One of the hardest working player in the side.
If he does go and if it's to a football playing club i.e Swansea, he will score goals for fun.
As Redprintt as quoted....the boy's CLASS

"One of the hardest working players in the side"

If you asked this question of a hundred people 50 would agree and 50 would disagree (and I have asked a quite a few peoples opinion on this!)

I am one of the latter.

Great Signing, its made the trip to brighton alot more interesting, wonder who he will play alongside him

Now the best deal regarding maynard would be to sell him to West Brom for 1 mill plus S.Cox, seeing cox and wood upfront might sound wierd but i bet it would be deadly

    feel sorry for pitman though

Agreed Redpprint......i don't believe since Nicky's been at the club has he had descent supply.
What a load of rubbish that statement is, so in 2009-10 when he scored 21 goals, he made them all himself did he,
you cannot score 21 goals in the championship or any other football league, without a decent supply.
Admitted since his injury he hasn't been quite the same player, and playing in a struggling side doesn't help, i agree playing in a footballing side he just might get his goalscoring touch back.
And you agreeing with Redpprint, thats a first. :)

I wholeheartedly agree with Redprintt......I can't believe that either AD. Maybe, just maybe, With Chris Woods playing alongside Nicky Maynard, could help to persuade Nicky to stay & sign that contract!!!

One good season,as you quite rightly say he has not been the same player since the self inflicted injury.

That last home game Maynard was so so of the game against Millwall.he was staying central for the majority of the game, showing no desire to help his fellow team mates.

In fact most of them were of his own making....had he had a descent suppy god knows how many he would have scored...

Anyone else feel like there is a whiff of Basso in the air.

Big shot player reckons he can walk into a Premier league side and no bids are offered.

I think he'll be a lot of managers secondary target, I expect him to leave late in the window.

Wood is quoted in the Evening Post as having consulted Paul Hartley before deciding to come here. Seems Hartley had nothing but good things to say about us. Nice to hear. Cheers Paul.
