The sad fact is Ashley is going nowhere any time soon, unless the takeover happens and I'd be amazed if it does.

He clearly does give a **** about the fans or what they think, so any protests will fall on deaf ears. He makes money from us and that's all that matter to him.

He's successfully managed to regress us to perrenial relegation fodder, the next step will be to take us back to the depths we were at in the late 80s/early 90s, and people will again start referring to us as a "sleeping giant" and say horseshit like we're "seeped in tradition". I remember all the "what if they hadn't sold Gascoigne, Waddle, Beardsley etc" ****e in the early 90s, we're basically at that stage now with "remember the days of Shearer".

Be all for this, he got a league one team to 10th in the EPL on a minimal budget - unlike Bruce I don't think he'd let the players get away with some of the **** they have under ol' cabbage heed.

Only worry I would have is we'd revert back to a 5-3-2 formation but lets face it we have better players than McBurnie, Sharp, McGoldrick, Norwood, Basham et al. so maybe he'd play 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 I'd imagine.

To be fair to him this season I think if he'd had his first choice defence fit they'd have been ok. They should have strengthened in the summer across the board.

Honestly, mate, I applaud your enthusiasm but I don't know how anyone could be "all for this", when the only thing the owner is looking at is how much he costs and what his salary is. I'd imagine Nicky Butt's been contacted as well. Barton, not so much - Mike demands "loyalty", i.e. say nothing bad about the structure no matter how utterly **** it is.

We've been conditioned to accept failure - the hatred for the owner should be relentless and boundless.

    Honestly, MATE!

We could get Adam Johnson in and I'd be in favour of that ahead of Bruce...

Seriously though there are a million and one names you could link with the job - Howe would be my personal choice, Barton and Butt as you suggested, someone mentioned perennial failure Mark Hughes earlier - all I'd take in a heart beat at present.

Bruce has lost the dressing room and lost his mind if he thinks giving players 6 out of 9 days off over the international break while we are in serious trouble coming of one of the worst performances in recent history with nearly half the first team squad out injured.

When all this is over and Bruce is gone he’s going to have the final say and laugh as well. He will blame the fans for the abuse he is receiving and will brand us with a permanent taint, the ones that hate their own.

He will lob the “Twitter abuse” in the hat aswell and state that we made his job impossible. And the whole world will feel sorry for him and we will look like the villains.

I've no doubt he will do all of this, however it still won't remove the fact he's a massive tw@t with a disgraceful record as a manager.

Sorry, thought we were all friends here?!

I guarantee whoever replaces him, if it's under Ashley, you'll be pig sick of the football within 6 months calling for their head. Nothing at all is going to improve and given Bruce is still here it's likely Ashley knows this on some level. It's whether he's bothered and what the "plan" is, if he even has one.

Depending on how "loyal" Nicky Butt was, possibly even depending on how friendly he is with Rio Ferdinand, could see us appoint yet another coach. Which is as pointless as anything else Ashley might do. Appointing Wilder is pointless, because a managerial change is pointless, because surviving (or not) is pointless.

I was just copying you and emphasising the mate, maybe should have been "maaaaaaaaaaaaaate" - I thought we were bessie maaaaaates though not just mates :(

I honestly don't care if its the local bin man or pep guardiola, Bruce needs to go. I'd take Kinear ahead of Bruce.

Bruce is bad. But he’s not that bad.

Imagine some of the names he would have for some our players though.

    Saint maximum.

Steve Clarke rates Carver highly, he's one of his coaches on the Scottish national side.
