I think Arsenal would beat us to Samba, especially if Blackburn went down. They've been crying out for a player like him for years, and he'd be good with Vermaelen.

    20. That means compensation? Even if his contract is completely expired? Surely wont be much compensation?

I think its under 23 but it may be 21 now I come to think of it. Compensation is to be payed if Blackburn offered him an improved contract (we got Gosling for nowt because Everton forgot to do this), and the value is agreed between the clubs and the FA I think.

Samba wud be immense but there would be Europe League, Champions League teams after him. Depends on his ambition I suppose

Him and Coloccini sounds good but both are foreign which would make me a bit woried cos I always like to see an English defence lol

As for Hoillet, I'm sure he has just signed a new deal at Blackburn. Might be wrong. Class player though

U23 rings a bell from my Football Manager experience, but didn't want to take that as definite. Blackburn have said they are going to offer him a new deal in the summer so will surely be an improvement on his current deal, therefore compensation will probably have to be paid.

Still, I think he's worth a punt either way. Young, tore us a new one(especially Simpson) back when they beat us 2-1 at home and he was causing a lot of trouble, he's very quick, tricky, skillful, bags of energy and ability. I'll definitely go for him as he'll add competition/cover/strength in depth to our squad.

Wanted him since he handed in that transfer request, he'll probably get snapped up by a 'bigger' team though.

Yeah I'm really impressed with him and similarly to Samba, he could be purchased relatively cheaply if they get relegated. But then again, he has European football to look forward to next season!

Couldn't agree more about Samba, straight up replacement for Williamson. Would be a huge asset.

We could play 4-4-2 when we don't have the ball and 2-4-4 when we do. We'd be unstoppable.

That Peter Crouch is tall. But when you also take into account Defoe's height he actually averages out to dwarf standards.

Just to echo what others have said, Samba would be quality but others world probably offer him better wages than Ashley would. Mind you, if Smith and Campbell go that frees about £80k a week in wages. Offer Samba about £40k? Obvoiusly Rovers need to accept an offer first. Johnson and Cahill would also be good, reckon Birmingham will go down so may sell..but Johnson is the weakest of those mentioned.

Was just about to say that i think he would be a good signing, especially if Blackburn go down, which will be a close run thing.

Never been keen on Blackburn, out of the 8 teams I put on that list, there's only Villa I'd like to see go down more.
