What was other people's thoughts on Rigg warming up with the other 6 outfield subs on Saturday? Never seen that happen before with other players, so seems as if this is part of his unique development that they talked about giving him.
Great to see we have a plan for these lads, shows we take an interest in them, know what they need and we will give them opportunities around the first team if they are good enough. The Boro game for the u21s last week showed me he will cut it. He wasn't afraid to have a pop at older lads for not giving him the ball and he never hid even when we were 3 down.
This is one of the things Southampton used to do, probably still do. Every week one or two would get the chance to train and sometimes travel with the first team. All based on merit. Robin Nicholls has come to us from Southampton, so maybe that's where we got it from. Good idea anyway.
