It would be like warnock going to a CL team after we sacked him. theyd be a laughing stock. The bournemouth team play far superior stuff under howe and its not brcause they have more money.

They were in talks over a new contract which he wouldn't sign, it makes sense to get rid if him now if that contract was up in the summer. A manager of a bottom of the league club should be grateful of any extension offer.
Perhaps this also had an impact on those contract extension negotiations, i.e. Powell wanted to hang on to and further develop his squad, rather than being a feeder club? "Powell, 44, had been in talks with new owner Roland Duchatelet over a contract extension, but they have not agreed on a number of key issues in recent weeks." I see Zola has been linked again, has the club done what politicians do and talked about the worst possible alternative then a mediocre one like Zola doesn't seem so bad? That might be giving them too much credit as usually they just pick the worst and most expensive option.
I'd take Powell over Zola any day as manager. Chris Powell that is just in case TF gets it wrong and goes for Hope Powell. Zola was a great player, decent piano player, but terrible manager.
Zola had his hands tied at Watford with having to play more loans than we have. I don't want him but at least his teams played attacking football
