Just watching U23s on getwestlondon and Chris Paul looks a different class to any of our 1st team defenders. Does anyone know much about Him?

Not a lot, only that we signed him from Spurs when they let him go aged 18 from their academy. He's a Northern Ireland U21 player who can play in midfield and practically anywhere in defence. He's been involved with the first team squad and has been an unused sub on five occasions. He signed a one year contract extension last November which runs until next summer.

As an aside my mate watched the U23's game v Brentford at Griffin Park tonight. This is what he text me ...

'' Well well well, just watched the U23s dismantle Brentford. We have some good players there. ''

'' The football we played was sharp and progressive. ''

'' We have pace and power up front. Don't know there names but we have a black guy up front with great pace and power.''
( I think he might be referring to Ody Alfa. )

'' We know how good Brentford are on the ball but we looked much better than them, big improvements coming at last. ''

Well done Chris Ramsey. He did it with Spurs, why not us?

Hopefully it's not another false dawn, but the U23's have a 100% record so far this season. Although tonight's game was a friendly against a Brentford B team. The U18's also won today beating Bolton away 4-0.

Makes a difference to last season when all the teams were losing nearly all their matches.
The combined coaching team is doing something right....

I know it does not fully translate but a culture of winning/ expecting to win goes a long way....

When we made no move at all for a CD during the window (with only Ned, Caulker and Baptiste fit)...I wondered how close Lynch, Hall and Perch were to playing......had forgotten about Paul.......
So it seems we have 7 CDs on our books....can see why we cannot justify any more...even if half of them are permanently injured

Great reports and really with our club st the moment as it appears they have learnt at last
We are buying players from lower leagues and bringing through potential new players

Not so long ago I claimed we would spend 20m on a player which I still believe we would of done

Samba is still our record ?

What a Cnut Redknapp

Nines, that is a hell of a complete and detailed answer for someone who does not know "a lot".

I wonder what thesis you would write if your knowledge was detailed.

I am very impressed!

Cheers Ski, that's very generous of you. Your reward for this pleasantry is to watch Romeo Akinola's free kick v Brentford last night ...

We should have CB's Chris Samba & Danny ****tu as our twin towers in defence - thou shalt not pass, but if you do, we can't catch you.

Couldn't resist posting this, similar set up with the left edge of the wall kept deliberately scrappy

999s, couldn't resist posting this (if successful of course - never done this before)
Spot the similarity?

I like it, it's very similar Ian. Where's that from?

The scorer (tall #5) is my son - he was playing in State league 2 a couple of years ago for North Caulfield in Melbourne.
This was a training move, note the 2 Caulfied players who "break" the left edge of the wall to make the gap. The Brentford defender who should have been on that side, looked like he was asleep.
