Did we wait too long, or did the Stevie G rumours unsettle him? I hope if we have a PLan B, assuming CH was Plan A....

Is this a major mistake by Ashton, thinking he can string people along.....

You have to question his thinking if he takes the Watford job with their trigger happy owners vs Steve Landsown who has always given managers time. The pressure from the Watford owners to go straight back up will be far higher than from our owners to reach the play-offs, surely?

Not looking good is it , it makes me wonder if it has been our decision to hold back , or his until he knew his options. Either way it seems we’ve missed out again . Next ..

I would jump at the chance of managing Watford, it’s a win win.
One 2 match winless run get sacked and get your contract paid up and no one will hold it against you with them. Succeed and get a little bit longer before getting sacked and your contract paid up.

Most are likely to choose Watford over City.
The quality of both squads don't compare.

Who's to say he is choosing Watford over us maybe we didn't want him?

I must admit if I was very much second choice after Gerrard then I’d tell City to do one. At very least I’d put my price up to make me more expensive than Gerrard.
I wouldn’t want to be the ‘default’ choice.

I guess it depends on how much you want the job. He's not bigger than the club so if his nose is put out of joint because he is second choice then he can do one himself. He needs to be less sensitive if that is the case

Why is everyone in meltdown? Nothing has been decided yet.

Because in the absence of any official announcement, we make up our own ‘facts’ then debate/argue over them!!!!

The problem is next season will be on us so quickly time is of the essence, whoever we appoint needs time to assess the squad and get ready for the season ahead . The longer we delay the less time he’ll have , so we really do need to act quickly .

Well they've already had nearly a month but they're still not getting an appointment announced.

Still 3 weeks till players report back to training. What’s the new manager going to do? They can’t work out exactly who to replace as they can’t see them yet. If they was going of video footage they would of no doubt done that already.

It's only been 24 days since Johnson left and seeing it took 23 days to appoint him and many people thought he was the only candidate its going to take a bit longer if we have more than the one candiadate
