McClaren is out of the running...

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13413159.stm

Former England boss Steve McClaren has ruled himself out of the running to fill the manager's role at West Ham.

McClaren was the bookmaker's favourite to replace Avram Grant, who was dismissed after the Hammers were relegated by Sunday's defeat at Wigan.

But he said in a statement to Sky Sports News on Monday: "I do not wish to be considered for the position."

First-team coach Kevin Keen and ex-Newcastle boss Chris Hughton are now thought to be the leading candidates.

According to SSN it's all kicked off at their end of season dinner after a player refused to sign and autograph, tables, glasses and chairs all over the place - and we thought WE were a circus when we went down!

I wouldn't want Chris Hughton anywhere near the likes of Karen Brady or Gold. I think there is trouble brewing at the Boleyn ground at the moment, and perhaps once it's errupted whoever goes in will know what they're up against. We moan about the treatment of Chris Hughton, but look at the treatment of Zola. He and the team were undermined and publicly condemmed by Sullivan and Gold who said with the exception of Scott Parker the whole team was available for transfer. That is disgraceful, it's hardly inspiring for the team or the fans.
Had they handled their affairs better, no doubt Grant would have been sacked in Jan and O'neill installed.

I like CH and would like to see him back in the game, but I think he deserves better than West Ham.

Wouldn't like to see him sitting on a powder keg like that. Of all the London clubs, I think him and Fulham would be ideally suited.

Let's hope he finds something soon though.

"Powder keg" AB is exactly what it is, there's definitely more to come, let's give it a few days we'll see not only the rats leaving the sinking ship, but the overpaid under achievers getting the push.
