Normal. He dared not to give the Nani decision(which he couldn't see) and ignored the pathetic handball shouts so now he's out of Fergie's circle of trust. It'll be interesting to see how long it is until he refs another United match, after he cocked up our game against Stoke he had another of our games just 2 months later. The usual punishment for crossing Fergie is between 6 months and a year.

It's such a clear flaw in the FA's system that you have to say they're either utter buffoons or they're well aware of the problem being given such an advantage.

It is also normal rotation for referees. 16 select refs and only 10 possible matches. They often drop down divisions though league 2 is rare......but 3rd strike.......

Explain why Clattenburg and Dean have also not refereed at Old Trafford since overseeing United defeats then? It's not a conspiracy theory, every football fan can see the FA bias towards United. As Benitez said, you cannot have a impartial FA when your own CE sits on the board

Atkinson ****ed us over at the Bridge and the season after he reffed the same game. We are pretty poor at this conspiracy stuff it seems.
 
Oh and Benitez is a deluded fool who looked for every excuse he could to deflect away from the fact he was **** and getting worse.

May aswell accept the words of an escaped lunatic.

Are you saying the FA operate on baseball rules for judging their refs? Do they get a home run for giving United a penalty? <whistle>

Funny you mention that game, it was Atkinson's 6th United game in 12 months. After the game he was dropped to the Football League for a week and didn't have a single United game in the following 12 months, despite being one of the league's elite referees. No wonder they don't want to piss Fergie off.

Nah thats how it works. Make get 3 strikes and you get demoted.

Its also a case of you cant ref in the Prem every week. Some refs do more as they are experienced and others less as they are newer.

Probert, Mason, Friend, Dean, Atkinson, Halsey and a couple of others have all been 'demoted' to referee one-off League 2 games in a season. Atkinson only reffed 3 League games outside the Premier League in the season he had one in League 2, Dean reffed City-Chelsea the week after a League 2 game and Halsey reffed one the game after reffing a 5-0 victory for United.

I nicked the above from a Liverpool fan on a Liverpoll forum calling his fellow fans morons. He will probably be banned for having common sense as its often the case on a number of Liverpool sites ( googled Foy demoted and it came up ).

So why did Atkinson not have a United game for 12 months after? Have you got a link for where the FA say they have a 3 strikes policy with refs? I've never heard that before.

He didnt but then he managed the same fixture he had reffed 12 months prior. Brilliant conspiracy eh? Or not.....

Though, can you provide any non tin hat conspiracy bullshit that any of this nonsense is even remotely true?
