Match Day Thread Chop Chop Tykes v Chairboys 16th Feb 19

The Chairboys travel north to the West Riding to take on to take on another in form team on their own turf for the second week in a row with the visit to Oakwell, the Tykes sit second in the league six points below the Hatters and 19 points above ourselves, this will be our sixth meeting and our record reads three draws one defeat and the one win back in December a game in which we produced arguably our best performance of the season and the 1-0 scoreline should have been greater and we will need to be at our best again to take anything out of this game.
Gaz will be hoping Alex Samuel will be in contention after limping off against Bradford in the first half Charles and Yves are closing in on a return and Stewart and Bolton are pushing for a start Owens could make his debut.
I will be staying at home this weekend enjoying the spring like weather maybe devouring some large pork chops cooked on the BBQ and hoping we can upset the odds and get some sort of result

Nathan Tyson was in the Wycombe side the last time they played at Oakwell in 2004 - with Matt Bloomfield an unused sub - and both could be involved again, with only Darius Charles and Yves Ma-Kalambay sidelined through injury. Alex Samuel should recover in time to make the squad after being taken off injured against Bradford a fortnight ago. Jason McCarthy returns to his former club.

It's no biggy losing to Barnsley who are after all a very very good side. I believe they retained a lot of their players from last season who were playing in the Championship and are probably that sort of standard. The worst part of your match was the Red card. Watched it on sky goal round-up and what a stupid git your Captain was today. No question he pulled the blokes hair and right in front of the Ref at that so the decision was already made. Just why would you do that for feck sake? Your club need to bang him hard with a fine and he deserves it.

I'm beginning to think the promotion end of league one is pretty much decided now and few have a chance of breaking into the top 6. Doncaster have 10 points on you for example and 2 games in hand. That would be a huge ask to catch and pass. The top 2 look almost nailed on at the minute and are the only 2 with continuing form. One thing is you are not going to struggle to stay in league one this season.

 

The problem is Greeny are we going to struggle next season a lot of teams come up from the 2nd div, then struggle all four sides at the bottom have only recently come up, that's football
