    Anyway, we may have been relegated (by one goal), not twenty something points was it, twice ? and we then proceeded to spend the entire season at the top of the Championship, which we won with a massive points tally ... it was probably good for us tbh.

    Don't let it get to your head that you were a division above us for one season, we were arguably the better team that year too

    Can't see any Sunderland supporters having a problem with his comments, they seem to be factual and well thought out.

    Don't think O;Neil said owt wrong like.....maybe a little to honest.

    You lot put us to shame last year (****ers) but that's life....Guess he was paying more of a compliment to you rather than looking at yet another of our downfalls.

    God you lot are never happy, even when someone pays you a compliment. And yes i do fully expect you to woop our arses again this season, but it's swings and roundabouts lads, enjoy it while you can........you just never know.

    As I say the best way to deal with a question about a derby rival is to do what the best managers do, avoid until there is a game on the horizon. The you use the media to your advantage. If O'Neill answers every question about us and waxes lyrical, the simple Sunderland fans will soon turn. To the half intelligent ones they'll just look and say "big deal" but you've got to think about your whole fanbase.
