Do you remember when walnut whips had a full walnut, half on top and the other half inside on the base?
I used to eat the one off the top on it's own then eat the sides and filling together, i saved the base and nut for one mouthful at the end.

Never seen Cadbury’s do them...they would be memorable.

sometimes I’ve bought a bag and the chocolate isn’t all that...too sugary.

Since it's getting near Christmas, whats the general opinion on Toblerone and Terry's chocolate orange?

I love em both but never think to buy them during the year <laugh>
 
A fair few mentioned I like. Spurly's on the money with a Picnic.

I always liked Yorkie.

when I was a kid a chocolate Orange was like next level God chocolate...now you pick them up for a quid...eaten so many.

Toblerone is too hard...for what it is, it’s not worth it...better chocolates out there

You are right, they use to sell them in the big jars with all the other sweets, and you bought them by 1/4 pound. I only really bought them for the raisins, but would tolerate the peanuts to avoid wasting them.

When I was little, there was an old girl live in my road and I use to go deliver her mail for her on a Sunday. The postbox/post office was a good half hour walk there, then the same back. So she use to give me something like threepence, maybe more but I honestly can't remember. Threepence back them would easy buy me 1/4 pound of sweets on the way back.

Obviously remember Sunday's use to be a proper religious day back then, so you was lucky to see a shop open. I would hardly see anyone on my journey. Not sure how the sweet shopkeeper made any money, being open then.

I bought some chocolate covered sultanas this week, SunnyD brand. Rip off really, sold in multi packs of 5, only 25g per pack, but charge £2.

I reckon she must be well dead and buried by now <laugh>

I think I was fascinated as a kid, going out on a Sunday, and no fooker about. Completely different to now. I think the shopkeeper must have use to shut around midday'ish, only because I remember some Sundays I never use to get there in time.
