Most that leave are not good enough. We gave Salah and KDB plenty of chances but they were only fringe players behind Costa & Lampard. Yes they developed late but you can’t flog a dead horse playing these players if they don’t produce, especially when the owner has a trigger finger.
It's something you have to live with as a Chelsea fan and it's worked and you've won a lot so **** it I suppose but at some point you are going to have to start getting these players through the ranks.
Ideally that would be the plan but when you buy 4 or 5 players every year at 50 to 60 mil each with wages to match its hard for any manager to play youth squad.
Ideally yes. But we've not been proven wrong yet. How many youth players have we let go and they've turned out to be of Chelsea quality? Very few if any. Salah and KDB mentioned above were bought and were established first teamers / internationals when we got them, had played in Europe etc. Hardly youth products in the same way Hudson Odoi is. I think we can be criticised of letting go some younger fringe players too early and Salah, KDB, Ake, Lukaku have arguably shown us up a bit in this regard. Solanke has turned out to not be good enough (at least yet), McEachran who looked an amazing prospect has never got out the championship, Kakuta did nothing of note etc. Scott Sinclair and Jack Cork have had decent careers but not to our standard. If 35 million, premier league winner and ex England international Danny Drinkwater, can't even get on our bench, how can some kid expect to? It's bloody tough for these kids to get in and stay in.
East Stand Upper for me with my wife as company. If I was single and I could still ‘bounce’ I’d go for the Matthew Harding Lower or Shed End Lower. I’ve never before seen a Chelsea v Huddersfield game but my Grandad watched this top flight fixture circa 1970.
According to News Now, CHO has been told he will not be sold to Bayern. If true, that's a big commitment from he Club, as in another year, he'll be free to leave and we get zero. Hope this is not a one off, but the start of better using our top youth. It is a difficult problem for kids, Club and Manager, but needs better handling from all.
I haven't been upper east since the 80's. If you're up near the top of it.....don't forget your crampons and a rope !!!
It seems that your owner is a bit reluctant to fork out the big money at the moment at a time where you could do with just that. The overrated yank is a start but maybe one or two of the youth players is just what you need? Perhaps I'm wrong and Roman will dig deep again though.
You just need to sell Hazard and use the money to rebuild it worked for us with Coutinho, yes he's a much better player than Hazard but it'll give you the start you need.
He's a target man who's good in the air, Coutinho is a cheesemaker. So for example Hazard is just a god compared to Sean Wright Phillips, that makes sense.
Doubt it. The "overated Yank " is just to increase the value of Chelsea in the US in my opinion, might be wrong but doubt it. Roman has got CFC running at a good profit, that's all he cares about.
