Are these stories in the papers a message to us from Cortese basically saying he won't be gone for long? I don't know what to think about it all any more. There are aspects of what we've been hearing in the days since all this kicked off that seem positive - undoing some of the perceived mistakes made under the Cortese regime. But then perhaps he did go in order to make the takeover easier after all.
Well, T'Pau is an Elder Vulcan out of Star Trek, but the significance of her inclusion in your witty remark has gone, er... please log in to view this image
The same Saintsweb poster (mattletissier) who posted about this before these articles sprung up has said he can see it esculating quickly. Still don't know if he's bullshitting.
Hmm...now I know some people think Nicola has a messiah complex, but he left on Wednesday, and three days later he's risen again. Isn't that taking it a bit far, even for him!?
He'll be back in a couple of months and the club shop will be stocking 'Cortese Eggs' with his face on.
Well if he is bullshitting he has managed to bring in a couple of national newspapers with him. So Kudos at least. Heard Francis Benali got banned from St Marys this evening
Oooooh Yeah, I get it. zzzZZZZzzzz. please log in to view this image I was into my XTC, Simple Minds, Clash, and all that stuff, back then. Not little poppy groups like T'Pau. Of course I'd forget. Tbh, I did have a sneaky feeling that Paul Allen's boat was called T'Pau [actually called Octopus].
Dunno if he's bullshitting, or just a poor conduit. Still, the bits on Saintsweb about Wang Jianlin meeting with the management of various European clubs suggests that they might be in the market.
I agree with this. I know that we spent a lot relative to others in League 1 and the Championship, but feel uneasy about stupid money like Chelsea have spent. I want Saints to grow steadily (as it has done in the last few years)...as it would feel like our old Saints but in better times. However, I am also aware that the next step up needs serious money and I wouldn't blame Katharina for not doing that in an area she is unfamiliar with (football). Football can be the road to ruin. The only thing that would reconcile me would be the involvement of Nicola (as I like his plans for SFC). As someone said, 'I've tried rich and I've tried poor...believe me, rich is better.'
It is possible that the papers are just putting 2+2 together based on rumours generated by the fans. It is possibly true that Nicola has a plan, but I also find nothing strange in him leaving because he'd finally had enough and wasn't willing to relinquish any power (whereas in truth he was being asked to recognise the power that was already in place). Small point of order: Mauricio isn't demanding a meeting with Katharina...he in fact pointed out in an interview that it was for Katharina (as chairman) to request to see him not the other way round. And I don't think MP is in on any plans...he doesn't look like a man in the know.
What's wrong with our owner? It seems like we have a pretty good one. Not sure where everyone seems to be getting the idea that KL is evil and/or incompetent and NC is a hero. She's had the final say in everything that happens at the club for 2 or 3 years now. Can't understand why she gets no credit for it. NC was the one who resigned and somewhat left the club in the lurch.
I know it's the morning after the night before but I thought we had a consensus that their would be no logic used against this rumour If there is any actual truth behind a return of Cortese then you're right that Pochettino has no idea. It was tough to read him and Lallana as to whether they were still disappointed about Cortese or it was more down to the injuries to Gaston & Dejan. If Cortese does return and as quickly as reported then would you expect MoPo to be delighted or angry at being put through the emotional ringer? How long before Hollywood comes calling on this script or Hollywang as it will be soon known.
I don't see too many people saying there is anything wrong with her. They are just fantasising over a roumour
There's nothing wrong with KL but we know nothing about her or her intentions for the club so you could argue there's nothing right with her either. I don't think she's necessarily had final say over everything that's happened at the club in the last couple of years. KL wanting more influence is one of the suggested reasons for Cortese leaving.
Nothing wrong with the Leibherr's owning the club at all, but to be the richest club in the PL... Let's bring Bale home in a double deal for him and Ronaldo, and we'll have Messi to go in front of them. I like the look of Messi Cr7 Lallana Bale As a front four, I feel like it could just about work.
