Anyone tried a water fast before? Mate of mine did one and won't shut up about it, I think it is the veganism of shredding. I might try it
My dad's got one of them, he's got all sorts of fitness **** and apps including a kitchen scale that when you type in the code for the food stuff it will tell you the protein, fat, carb content. He always goes full throttle in an interest, the loft is full of tailor made gear from w/e his fad is, but, to be fair, the fitness stuff is mainly for my sister's benefit as he trains her and she's qualified for the GB triathlon team. How long did he do? I've done a weeks juice diet, twice, first time cos 2 friends were doing one and were such fannies about it that, on their third day I decided I'd show them how to man up, 2nd time for a bet.
I had 3 fruit juices a day for a week, (+ lots of water quell the hunger) Some of the juices were nice, some were rank but I had to do them in a certain order during the week, did I feel better afterwards? well, I was pleased my will-power held despite people constantly trying to tempt me into breaking it, and I lost over 1/2 stone, so it wasn't a bad thing, but when it finished I couldn't stop eating, and it didn't matter what I ate, I still felt hungry.
Anybody into crossfit? I can't believe the hype. It's like a ****ing cult. Fair do's if it works for you but I couldn't take it seriously, I was half expecting one of the stations to be an oiled up bumming at one point.
He has done a few now, started off just doing a day I think and think his last one was 5 days. Swears it is awesome and gets you lean as **** which is hardly surprising since all you consume is water. There is a video on youtube he sent me of some fat kid doing it for a month which seems pretty ridiculous. I've been doing intermittent fasting for years without even realising as I can't eat in the mornings and never snack. Have lunch about 12 then dinner at about 6 then don't eat again until lunch the next day. Based on this I think I could smash a water diet, just don't really know what the benefits are apart from losing weight which is easy anyway if you have any sort of idea about nutrition. Seems to me like this water fast is just some guy thinking "hmm don't eat anything and lose weight, lets try it"
That about sums it up for me. The trainer asked if I was joining up and I just said 'Not this one'. I can't take it seriously... There were people doing goblet squats with 2.5kg kettlebells with bad form.
I don't really know what it is tbh and I don't know anyone who does it. I have heard people talking about it and saying how awesome it is because of what great shape the top cross fitters are in, which is obviously just bollocks. I've always just assumed it is like a HIIT thing but more around the strength training exercises rather than cardio stuff?
It's circuit training mate but with more emphasis on lifting things. The problem is they make it a competition where teams of two compete against each other for fastest times etc, and the minute you introduce a race mentality into lifting you sacrifice form and get injuries. It's also patronising as fook, like they're saying they can bang out full body workouts 3 times a week and we regular gym goers can't.
Sounds ****. Competitive circuits sounds like a quick way to **** yourself up. Bad enough going with a competitive mate who takes the piss out of what you can lift, that is usually me.
Hate that with mates First time I joined gym I was literally bench pressing just the bar, so my mate starts giving me ****. "Is that almost you can press" whilst looking around I said " bitch if I could bench press a 100k why the fook would I come to a gym" A few laughs meant he never said anything again
I'm ****ed still. I've had a severe lack of drive today and I don't know if it's the GVT or the heat. Thankfully leg doms are barely noticeable nowadays otherwise I'd be crying on the floor.
I find leg day gets in the way of my chest and arms only rotation. Despite playing football at least 3 times a week for the past 15 years or something stupid I still get unbelievable doms in my legs, only place I still get it really.
I've got a calf strain, ****ing b'tard is killing at the moment. Going to just have to suck it up and do R.I.C.E for a few days.
Boils my piss. Dick heads forget that they didn't walk through the doors with a gym bod. Benching just the bar to start off, is where the majority of people will be at.
I did 460 cases each 17kg in the first 2 hours yesterday. That's a lot of weight. Think I'll skip the gym this week, and next
