I wouldn't be able to run after squats or anything, no. Ordinarily though I'd finish off with a run, although perhaps not 5k! Just 20 mins or so steady jog.
I always do cardio first, light weights afterwards and core. Gonna try it the other way round at the weekend, light warm up, weights first then cardio
Well, having slightly buggered my left knee after two weeks of jogging, I’ve joined a gym (again), and have been assigned a personal trainer. I must say, I am very impressed. He’s got me doing 7 core exercises, and no cardio, for 6 weeks. Apparently, it’s a high intensity fat busting program (that’s my name for it, not his). The exercises involve pressing weights, but very, very slowly. I’m doing that for 30 minutes, 4 days a week. After 6 weeks, the program will be revised, depending on how things have gone. The trainer is also looking at my diet. I complete a “food intake” sheet every week. I’ve got to say, that I much prefer this to the running!
100% agree, Tel. I’m being very good, so far. Lots of fruit, nuts, oily fish, fresh veg and water. Lots and lots of water.
Bloody fire alarm in the middle of a squash match this evening. Bollocks. Would have pissed it too, my opponent is ****. So, went to the driving range instead, where I hit a load of balls badly and ended up having a pint so not great on the old fitness front at all if I'm honest. Have taken to my bed to listen to some music and read. Can't be arsed with the reading bit though.
Long run tonight then weekend off. Good work. Been to the gym Monday (high intensity training + lower body weights + core) Tuesday (7k intervals + Upper body), Thursday (tabata + weights). Tonight 10k run + pliates. May do some conditioning tomorrow before daughter's 8th birthday party; otherwise weekend off, dinner then house party in Dalston. Same party last year attracted 550 people and finished at 130pm next day, so no training Sunday
Neat gin. Straight from the bottle And eels. Gin and eels, the Dickensian diet. You didn't see many overweight Victorian street urchins.
Same. If I do the cardio first, I’m knackered. So, weights and machines first, then 15-20 mins run or row.
