Hoping to use that paddle board more now. I play golf at weekends, that's my big outdoor thing. Managed a couple of mid week 18's of late too. Agree though, up to a point at least. My gym interest wanes during times when there are longer day light hours. I don't mind it so much in autumn and winter.
I meant to add kayaking to that list. But yeah the paddle boarding will be great for core fitness. I surf and cycle through the winter months. (As you’ve probs seen from the pics !) I’m not trying to claim it’s always pleasant, but I quite like the fact that some days you have to have a word with yourself and dig deep. character building
See the Burley thread, but just said I've got kayak seat and paddle for my board and prefer that given the chance. That's cracking workout.
I've upped my game the last few months, 12-15:mile cycle 3 times a week, 5 mile interval training once, three times a month a 10 mile walk with lots of climbs, then the fourth week it's a marathon walk, 26.7 miles at a average pace of 3.5 mph, weekend, just see what's going on but rarely do much on a Sunday. Not too bad for an old ****er. 10 miles into my ride today, the master link on my chain decided to pop, so it was a 4.5 mile walk back
Lol, I've had a few of those impromptu walks home when I've busted the bike. When I remember to take it it, I've got a frame bag with a chain breaker and a couple of spare links and Co2 cannister. Worst one I did was when I ripped the rear mech off coming down a rocky gully on the coast path around 15 miles from home. I thought it would be fine as I could walk (only about half mile) to the nearest road, call the missus and get her to drive out and rescue me. But her phone was out of charge so I had to walk the ****er back and freewheel it down the hills. Took me ****in hours to get home. When I got back the missus was like, 'nice cycle ? you were gone a while' lol
Running three times a week and yoga three times a week for me. One 'hangover' day. More than one this week after Glasto!
Bump. Going to rejoin the squash leagues. My sons have been having lessons and I've got the itch again. Say goodbye to what's left of my knees.
Just purchases a cyclocross bike, CAADX for gravel and finally went and got some specific shoes rather than using old road shoes/pedals on the MTB. Had a £30 voucher for something so only cost £85 in the end. Bargain
Thought I’d bump this as I’m back on it after becoming a fat **** last year. 2kg down since Saturday and that was with some relatively heavy drinking over the weekend. I’m hungry.
Good bump, been looking for options of stuff to do where I'll be working this year (Pembrokeshire). Not many tbh, there's a gym option down the road but it looked packed when I went to look and not much kit. They had a class on in the middle of the gym bit though, so will have to have anothger visit. The leisure centre was ****ing roofed out and small, so probs not there. Might have to be outdoor free stuff. So coast path 'running' and some paddle board/kayak ****. And the obligatory golf walks as well of course.

Yeah mate, the Wye valley is stunning. Go canoeing or something! Alterntively, river side pubs are fairly plentyfull. There's also Chepstow castle and Tintern Abbey if you like to look at ruined old buildings.
Tend to agree, when the weather is decent and the days are longer I tend to not be arsed going to a gym anyway so waste of money.
What about doing some TRX training? https://mensfitness.co.uk/workouts/take-fitness-outside-trx-workout/
