Yes, the best way of getting promoted to to the PL is to get rid of a manage with a record of achieving this and appoint someone with no experience at this level. Will FFP allow them to throw money Henry's way though?
Yes, he does have such a record. Twice with us in fact. But just the once should have sufficed. Last year was Villa's promotion to **** up. They duly obliged. And yes, you may deduce from this, and other similar posts, nice guy that he is, I am not in the Steve Bruce clap clap club.
I remember people on here saying what a **** Warnock is and Cardiff were welcome to him. That turned out badly for them, they would have been better off with an ex PL superstar with no experience of management.
Leaving them in a higher position than when he took over. Without spending a shedload of money to get them there.
Must be a Birmingham thing, Birmingham got rid of Rowett and appointed Zola and we know how that ended. Villa sound as if they are going to do something similar.
These club owners never learn - they take over a slightly jaded, but highly ambitious club like Villa and start ****ing about the instant there feet are over the threshold. Monsieur Henry may surprise us all and take them to promotion BUT - recent history suggests he'll do ****-all of the sort.
An old un but still relevant: How do you become a millionaire? Easy, be a billionaire to begin with then buy into a football club.
Warnock's never done it in the prem...Sheff Utd relegated. QPR skin of teeth, then left season after. I somehow can't see him bucking the trend this time around.
I'd be very wary of these new saviours of the club. I remember Portsmouth getting new ones and every time they were supposerly wiping the debts clean and have money to spend. In effect they just load more onto the club and walk away having spent **** all, ripping off all the local business's who never get their money back.
