It Seems we just have to accept that Heaney and co are the pb and we got to get on with it. Like it or not. It means Argyle survives, for the time being
Things are definately getting a little hot under the collar at the moment. Guilfoyle and Heaney are obviously not best friends at present, it has been suggested that at this stage in proceedings they should literally be joined at the hip as they finalize the sale of PAFC. One worrying aspect of all this is, Guilfoyle is desperate to get an immediate payment to cover Augusts outgoings from Heaneys consortium. The alternative is that Guilfoyle's company pick up the £230.000 tab for August wages etc............Guilfoyle's boss up in Yorkshire would not accept that as an alternative and liquidation would be more favourable on a financial footing for his company. Heinous Heaney comments about Guilfoyle's court action was to say.............that it was frivolous........and that the money was in place. Ridsdale has today the task of persuading the Football League that he is fit to run a Football club. It's fine to say we shouldn't bother about all this and concentrate on talking about football...........but there won't be any football if this isn't soughted soon. The meeting saturday at the Pavilions could definately be a bit choice.......and certainly the place to be.
The other thing I forgot to mention............If the staff and players do not accept another wage deferment..........it's all over for PAFC.........Saturdays match pales into insignificance..............and we thought it couldn't get any worse.
GAT I'm afraid you have to recognise reality. Guilfoyle is trying to sell something which has no intrinsic commercial value [the football club]. There aren't many buyers. Those buyers that do exist are only interested in the property. The demand that the club be saved adds significantly to the cost of acquiring the property. The buyers have a chance of acquiring the property without the club and without the added expense through a liquidation if the administration fails. What weight do you think the buyers put on Guilfoyle's timetables & demands? I'd say next to b..... all.
If Heinous Heaney is angling for liquidation of PAFC.........will that mean he buys the ground that has got no football club attached to it...........so will then try and get the stadium usage changed..........and end up with a bigger building site to develop !!! He would need more protection than the Marines and Paras would be able to give him...........to stop him from being lynched by the Green Army.
Plymborn As I understand it, it does not follow at all that if the administration deal with BIL [not Heaney who is stated only to be a consultant] falls through, that BIL automatically become the buyer in liquidation. Lombard as the primary mortgage holder would then be in a powerful position and a liquidator would be appointed in place of Guilfoyle. This would be a separate process with the eventual owner of the land to be decided - which could be anybody. So to suggest Heaney is manipulating the situation towards liquidation is wrong - he's merely an adviser until proven otherwise - and it's highly unlikely BIL is manipulating it that way either as they could not be at all sure they'd be the eventual owners. All that would do is to result in them spend big sums of cash in the preferred bidder exercise with nothing to show at the end. The risk of liquidation now seems very high which is bad enough without wacky conspiracy theories. As I've said consistently, we fans shouldn't care a damn who buys the club/property package as long as the club survives. That again looks unlikely.
Perhaps Distant starting again isn't such a bad idea .... at the least the club would be be re-built on honesty and integrity !
Exactly Plymborn, it's not a question of being relegated to the Blue Square or something it's way way down to any league that will take you on public park pitches. It's taken AFC Wimbledon c 10 years to get back into the league and I can do without the honesty & integrity of that. In any event, personally I don't think there's the will or the passion in Plymouth to do what Wimbledon have done, I think once PAFC is out, it's gone forever. So it's Heaney, Ridsdale et al for me and Stapleton and his local Plymouth mates too if necessary. They may have made an almighty **** up but their hearts were in the right place.
I fully respect your opinions Distant, but I think you'll find that with them in charge the club will slowly die anyway as there are many, many fans who are going to walk away when that happens .... rock and a hard place ! There is a saying that if you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas ...... Sorry I cant agree with your comment ..... that their hearts were in the right place, if it was we wouldn't be where we are now ....... I've said it before and I'll say it again its ...... Sir Peter, the players, the staff and we the fans that have kept Argyle going ...... definately none of the people you've mentioned !
The administrator should be made to pay the staffand players this month, they are creaming thousands for doing nothing. What have they done so far. Just got fans angry it seems. Keep stapleton and Mr toad away from it all.
Well done to the players and staff.........helping to keep Argyle afloat for another month..........you could have pulled the plug if you had refused to go without your wages......we all owe you big time..........hopefully one day we can somehow pay you back.
When the sale of PAFC is completed........and that seems to depend on two outstanding areas.........the Football League being satisfied and Lombard getting their money back........there needs to be a time of reflection and a time of everyone cooling down..........allowing football to be the centre of events for a reasonable period of time. The Lombard issue will be settled eventually........ it's surely not to anyones advantage that it's not done. The Heaney problem..........being involved with two clubs at the same time can be awkward..........before Peter Ridsdale can buy the Football Team for a nominal payment............ Heaney, part of the BIL consortium will be in the position of double involvement in two Football Clubs..........only for how long it takes to sign an agreement with Ridsdale to take it off the BIL consortium. The Football League could be concerned that Heaney is driving a horse and carriage through their rules on ownership to get what he wants, the land that comes with the deal. Maybe Heaney should withdraw from the Consortium to allow the sale..........what he does afterwards.......rejoining BIL is after the event. It is galling that Heaney is saying the "Irish Consortium" have the Money in place.........yet he said it depended on another deal he was completing !!! If the money was in place why couldn't they show goodwill by releasing Augusts wages ?
Correct Reid-All-About-It, it's been clearly stated that Heaney is a non-participating consultant - and that Ridsdale will immediately take the football club off the consortium's hands in any case. I appreciate this may be a smokescreen but the League presumably have access to the sale & purchase agreements and other documents. If it transpires that Heaney is hanging around Home Park post completion, the League can always act then, so what's the hold up?
The Little Ginger weasel is a liar, Surely if Bil have the funds what are they waiting for. Why is Ginger waiting for another deal to go through? He may be the new Toad or worse. Brenda, get it sorted, it makes his company look stupid. Perhaps they are. Lets get on with the football and let these clowns sort out the money.
According to Heineous the deal was supposed to have been signed, sealed and delivered today ...... errrrm don't tell me its been delayed again ..... shock !!!! horror !!!! I am soooooooo surprised
If the Consortium is still negotiating with Lombard that stops completion. Until the FL approve the deal and return PAFC's share that stops completion. So BIL can say, it's not us stopping completion.
