Joking aside I think that Luis Suarez is one of the most talented footballers ever to play the game and football will be all the poorer with him not playing. All these armchair pundits and experts make me want to vomit at all this self righteous hysteria. England will never ever produce a player as good as Suarez unfortunately.

If you have to have a twat of a person like that in order to get the talent, I'll go without thank you. I really can't believe you're defending him JWM, would you want your son to bite opponents?

At the end of the day it is easy to condemn people without seeing the positive side of their character! Suarez has brought a lot of pleasure to people with his wonderful talents as he is a very special player. I certainly do not condone his actions but I am willing to try and understand the complicated character in him that makes him do these things. I am just sick of this "lynch mob" mentality towards people who err. He needs professional help and support and certainly not our condemnation.

I hope that Suarez gets the psychological treatment and support that he needs and that we see him back playing in a few months time. He will be a great loss to Football.

Three to six month ban whilst he's given help to address his demons followed by a similar period playing in a Lecter mask.

I'm not bothered how good he is, you can't go around biting people and not expect punishment. This is the third time now, hardly coincidence is it?

Were his actions any worse than a deliberate leg breaking challenge (Keane on Haaland) the sheer thuggery of Davis right hooking Cockerill?
Or how about the fact that he's got a more leanient punishment (league games) than Di Canio got for merely pushing the ref?
Yes, Suarez's actions deserve a ban, but in my opinion, there have been a lot worse things that have gone on on the pitch.

I actually think that Saurez sees it as an acceptable way to disrupt an opponent and get an advantage rather than a uncontrollable reaction..

This won't stop him. He's not mentally ill, he's just feral. A little back-woods wolf-boy, from Nowhere, Uruguay.

Scourers are moaning that it's not their fault and they shouldn't be punished, but how many of their goals has he created from (non-dental) cheating?

Apart from trying to eat the opposition, he's a world class diver and he'll be back to doing that in November.

I'd have thrown the book at him. Premeditated acts are inexcusable. A violent tackle is often due to lack of skill and poor timing, but Suarez knows what he's doing; be it diving or biting.

The only good to come of this is the Norwegian punters cashing in their 175/1 bets that he'd bite at the world cup. I wouldn't be surprised if he was instrumental in putting one of those bets on, the rat-faced cheat.

It’s the hysterical reaction of the Uruguayan press, president (!) and, it seems, citizenry at large that bothers me more than Suarez’s apparent mental issues. It’s even more unhinged and duplicitous than the team’s protestations that it is no less part of the game than a lively tackle.

What is it about South America that seems to promote this sort of fractured and lunatic logic? We recently had Ecuador’s absurd behaviour over a rumour involving their London embassy containing Assange, which included a marathon speech by their foreign minister that assumed nobody else, most of all Britain, was aware of the notion of “asylum” and nobody else had ever granted it. Then there’s the continual bleatings of the swivel-eyed Argentinean president over their childish obsession with the Falklands.

Is it guilt over their formations as nation states what with their European colonial origins being responsible for the death of over a fifth of the world’s population at the time (not to mentions the invention of the Atlantic slave trade)? Is it a subconscious complex when they compare their crapholes to Europe and North America (above Mexico, anyway)? Is it all the mercury and other rubbish that ends up in the water supply from all that illegal gold prospecting and cocaine production?

There must be something that turns them into paranoid loons.

I think that when you get countries to compete with each other in an international sporting event, they suddenly remember all the wars and the fact that we hate each other!
