A memories thread with members posting stories, Jpgs of articles collected as well as pictures etc perhaps. It will bring back old and fond memories. My Gooner beginnings were back in 1978 and while I wish I had been more of a memorabilia collector I'm sure I have some old newspaper clippings somewhere. The report in The Times of that 1989 win at Anfield for the championship is around. I can still see the picture of John Barnes and the Pool players collapsed on the ground.
Cym do you still have any memorabilia from the Woolwich days? please log in to view this image Talking of fond memories, did I ever mention I was in the North Bank the day PELE (the mostest bestest player in the world ever) did a lap of honour at Highbury?
Well I have no grandkids and certainly not approaching my 125th!!!! BTW it was my college days when I saw Malcolm MacDonald score in the final minute against Wolves at Highbury in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Thereafter we went to Stamford Bridge which back then was pretty much a low key ground altogether. Pat Rice was el capitan and in those days, 90 minutes was actually 90 minutes!!!
Pele is the most overated player ever.He was lucky to have played with much better players such as Jairzinho,Tostao,etc.etc.Pele is just Sepp Blatter's.......oh you know the rest of the rant
We didn't have InterCity 125's up here then. The train was pulled by a diesel until Crewe and at Crewe the diesel loco was replaced by an elecric loco.
