I am sure that if Bruce knows anyone's value it is a defenders. If they want to pay more than he is worth with one year on his contract then sell him. He didnt have the best season with us and he is unproven in the PL. Man U does get a percentage of what we sell him for if memory serves me.
I don't get Hull fans there's no middle ground. We either value Chester far to low (1-2M), or far to high (5-10M). The issue is if a club bids below 2.5M we won't sell him. Yes he only has a year left, but for that year his value to us more than what that club is bidding as we would get more from him. So why sell him for below 2.5M? We won't. His value isn't much higher but it is to us which is the most important thing in this matter. What he is worth to the club that have him which is quite a lot. Also he is English so that puts a premium on it, his age does to. I have no doubts he will sign a contract and this will all become irrelevant.
Chester's market value and value to you are 2 different things You will probably want around 5M+ while his market value currently is around 3M He would have nothing to gain from leaving you at this moment
And this Mr King, is why Chester would NOT go to Newcastle to further his career. Nothing to do with whether they are a bigger club than Hull City. His agent may try to engineer such a move to the circus for the sake of money, but not for the sake of his career. He'd do well to play out of his skin for us next season and maybe get a move in the January 2014 window. But not to Newcastle.
That doesnt matter, at the end of the day we own his contract and he is happy here. Someone needs to make a big offer to get us to do business, Kasper is only 26 which is young for a goalkeeper. Peter Schmeichel didnt join Man U until he was 27 Chester is best off spending at least 1 season in the Prem with Hull, if at the end of it he does really well and you come back down then he might aswell get his big move then. But for now he just needs to play and prove he can cut it in the prem
Seem to remember you arguing the exact opposite this time last year when all your speculation surrounded James Chester and Robert Koren. How ironic!
I think any transfers will be cheaper than expected due to the fair play situation coming in, this could also work out better for us as it also works against us. At this moment in time I don't expect anyone to take a chance on him right now, I think SB will put a hefty price on him & any teams won't make the bid until they've seen him at PL level.
Market value is dictated by one factor, it's what somebody is prepared to pay, end of! If Chester were to move, then I expect that Brucey will have a replacement lined up, Curtis or Boyce being the front runners apparently. On the other hand if Chester stays, then expect him to be tied into a long term contract 3-4 years.
Rubbish! There's a big billboard in Market place, Leicester and every week the player valuations for the whole football league and premier league are posted there by some mystery person. It's all predetermined and nobody else, other than this mystery guy, has any say in it. Proud-Fox reads them every Sunday and comes on here to tell us all what the Market Value of all our players are for that week.
no, my logic might be "flawed".. In terms of prestige & salary, sure Chelsea are a 'step up', would Chester get a game at Chelsea? a cup appearance or two perhaps, but more likely to be bench warming, reserves or loaned out.. He needs exposure in the top flight and that will come at HCAFC.. see the logic?
When or IF James Chester leaves Hull City it will be for a much bigger club than Newcastle and Aston Villa. Just another made up non-story to fill up paper inches. Neither have the money required to get Chester from us anyway.
They do. If he left we'd get about £4million for him. People are overvaluing him like they did Turner back in the day. The same disappointment will inevitably occur.
How good do you think Chester is? There are many young defenders that are better or have as much potential as Chester, that would cost a lot less than the figure some City fans are quoting. Yes he is a very good player, but to suggest he is only good enough for the top half of the prem is rubbish.
