A decent point against a decent side.
Back 4 dealt with most thrown at them including alot of crosses and Neal looked comfortable in goal and made 1 noteably outstanding save in the first half from Summerfield. Although a few hairy moments, there wasn't anything else I can really think of that really troubled us, although Mohammed was rather wasetful for them on a number of occasions.
For the Shrews, Bradshaw looked lively and worked his socks off and it was a shame he couldnt keep his shot down with the first chance of the game. Taylor showed again why he such a promising talent and did well down the right with a number of decent runs and crosses. Hurst was Man of the Match for me, so composed on the ball and his tackling was first class. Sharps and Sherriff both were rock solid and the back and Jacobson also had a decent game. The rest of the lads did not play their best games, but were not awful in any sense.
Believe Turner's comments on using the ball better are valid, there was a number of occasions where the pass was poor or punted unnecassarily and most of our chances were close to their keeper. Sharps's header probably came the closest, although the Morgan/Wright miss in the second half was easily the best chance and a woeful effort really.
The bust up at the end was a joke, their keeper fumbled a shot and Gornell slid in for it with every intention for the ball and he had every right to do it. The Cheltenham players charged in and Elliot should have been given his marching orders but was lucky to escape. The possesion seeemed pretty even to me, not sure how it was 60-40%.
A bit more composure in front of goal is all that is needed for me, the team is there with some players who would walk into league 1 sides. This for me was a point gained rather than two points dropped, we still have the top 3 to welcome to our fortress.
