I think this is a good idea. There is rarely anything new to learn from analysis of the graded and championship races
The problem I have is that, whilst I may glance at the cards in advance, I don’t take a serious look at the Handicaps until final declarations. I just can’t be arsed going through 80 odd entries for the Coral Cup. So that may kind of count me out too (plus I am in the states all next week on a business trip).
I love the handicaps at Cheltenham and have some victims picked out already. They've changed considerably in recent years though in that you can no longer just focus on the the bottom 10 in the weights to find the lurker. Last year showed that you need a bloody decent animal to win a Cheltenham festival handicap these days. Just look at last year's results - Un Temps Pour Tout, Presenting Percy, Arctic Fire, Supasundae and Road to Respect. Good idea to focus on these and kudos to anyone who successfully unpicks a few of the puzzles.

I've had a read, thanks for that.in my mind both can be discarded because you won't see any ground improvement before the festival.although the track drains well there's loads of snow about and they're talking about floods when all the snow melts in the hills and there is rain forecast this week.

Oh bugger. I've placed a comp bet in the County Hurdle on the strength of that <doh>

I think on the excellent 'Naps/EW/Lay' thread I pretty much summed up everything I wanted to say so I’ll leave it to others this time around.

Incidentally, the 14’s re Movewiththetimes in the ‘lucky last’ on the opening day has all gone and only quotes of 8/1 remain – regular readers plunge perhaps?!? Can see him being even shorter at ‘tapes up’ time as well.

That was because of the Final Furlong Podcast Barney. They had Harry Derham on and he tipped it up.
