Waterlogged pitch at Whaddon Road
Cheltenham Town FC
This afternoon’s game against Cheltenham Town has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Heavy overnight rain ruled out any chance of the game being played.

Just an hour ago a tweet from the official rovers twitter...
Bristol Rovers ‏@Official_BRFC
Cheltenham Town have confirmed pitch is playable at the moment. We will keep fans posted if anything changes.

So what is the difference between what has happened to us and what happened to Rotherham few weeks ago against us? Exact same amount of communication in both games yet Rotherham have put in an official complaint against us <doh>

Anyway, ticket info about todays game is within the official statement by Cheltenham regarding todays postponement....

The match between Cheltenham and Bristol Rovers has unfortunately had to be called off.
The game here at the Abbey Business Stadium between Cheltenham Town and Bristol Rovers has unfortunately had to be called off.
High winds overnight fended off the majority of rain but heavy rainfall this morning has made the pitch unplayable. A match official made the decision this morning.
Cheltenham Town groundsman Terry Roberts had been working extremely hard to get the game on but the weather has made it impossible for the game to be played.
Supporters who have already purchased tickets for this match will be able to use them for the re-arranged date which will be announced when confirmed between both clubs. Fan who will be attending the re-arrnaged game DO NOT need to buy a new ticket. If you desire a refund then this will be possible but not until Tuesday 8 January.
We would like to thanks both sets of supporters for their patience and understanding.

So I guess its just keeping an eye out on the teams above us and on Citys defeat today <ok>

.

Also with this game being postponed, we have no lost the services of Tom Eaves whose loan has now finished with us and will return to Bolton, Branston have returned to Aldershot.

Not sure about Lund and Walker yet if they are staying or not and when their loan actually runs out.

I think there are pros and cons for Rovers with all of these postponments. On the one hand we lose the services of our best player in Eaves. On the other, all of the teams with games in hand will be playing to a more compacted schedule for the rest of the season. This means that the clubs, like Rovers who have the largest playing staffs will have the advantage of rotating and replacing for injuries over a larger number of players.
