Sounds awful, if they have had to induce a coma. I really hope he makes a full recovery . It's been along time since we've had a jockey fatality on a British racecourse, lets hope this isn't one
Puts things into perspective and I hope he makes a full recovery, poor ****er. Sometimes we forget how dangerous this sport is for the men and women who put their lives on the line for our entertainment.
Awful news, with Matuhi being put down as well, it turned a very good profitable and enjoyable day really sour. My thoughts are with JT and his family and friends. Get well soon.
I really hope JT McNamara makes a full recovery. It always sours a day when you have injuries to man or beast.
Latest from Racing Post: LEADING amateur rider JT McNamara was on Thursday airlifted to a spinal unit in an induced coma after a heavy fall from Galaxy Rock in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Handicap Chase at Cheltenham. The 37-year-old was attended to by racecourse doctors and then taken by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, causing a delay of 25 minutes to the following race, the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase. The Irish Turf Club chief medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick, at Cheltenham this week to assist the medical staff, said: "He has been put in an induced coma and taken to the regional spinal unit. That is as much as we will know until he has had scans down there." Frenchay has an emergency spinal surgery unit for spinal trauma as well as neurosurgical teams. The leading point-to-point rider has ridden 602 winners including four Cheltenham Festival winners.
Well done Joe... + a late booom for myself, heavily invested in big shu after putting him up on Tuesday albeit with a couple of terrible (awesome) punns
