He’s always bullish though isn’t he? One of those trainers who you only listen to when he doesn’t say much, if that makes sense.

He’s right about the GC market being a nonsense though. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to start with that race, as I don’t think anything can win

In yesterday’s ‘Weekender’ there was a stable tour with a chap called Willie Mulilns (me neither). I made a couple of positive notes re his handicappers. Namely Aramon (County Hurdle) and Bonbon Au Miel (Kim Muir).

The former is a Grade 1 winner who could be interesting off his current perch and the latter has been 'orf since the '18 RSA. Got the impression the handler thinks him well treated off a mark in the high 130's and if he crosses the water could be most interesting.

Elliot drops a bombshell on the Betfair preview - he will walk the course Sunday morning but a big chance he will run Envoi Allen in the Supreme. Markets in meltdown !!!!!!!!!!

Rat arsed he may have been, but it's easy to believe that he knows what he's talking about. I took the available 4's BOG NRNB on the basis that a knowledgable drunk is better than a clueless teetotaller <laugh>

Well well, an ante-post winner. He settled right out the back and came through in grand style. He's beaten the warm favourite quite nicely there and the form looks solid. Apparently his jumping was sticky in PTP so I wouldn't be rushing to back him over obstacles just yet. That's the meeting paid for and I still have Monkfish and Kemboy to run.

Is Monkfish not a NR? Mullins brother on the Preview night said it had no chance.
    Great shout on the bumper.

    Cheers.

Monkfish is still in as far as I know. He's 6/1 3rd favourite across the boards at the moment.

You couldn't be confident of course but labelling him a no hoper seems a bit harsh. Monkfish is highest rated on official figures on 152 but there is sometimes a tendency to overrate wide margin winners. Thyme Hill has the Bumper form from last year and will be popular but Defi Du Seuil ran like a "Sack Of" and Hobbs isn't my favourite man at the Festival. Latest Exhibition was described as a good horse by Gordon Elliott when he turned over Andy Dufresne but despite looking good over 2m 6f last time I just wonder about the slog of an Albert Bartlett.

I though Monkfish shaped like a true stayer and Mullins described him as "Green as grass", so I figured 20/1 was worth a go. Bit worried by the NR talk and scathing review of "No chance" now. :emoticon-0104-surpr

He was obviously well informed <laugh>

I thought Monkfish was collared but he rallied gamely. He was keen early and missed out one hurdle, so he has done well for a horse described as clueless about racing in the early races.

20/1 and Ferny Hollow at 33/1 have made it a memorable Cheltenham for me.
