I see we've upped our bid for Marseille's RB Cesar Azpilicueta from £5.4m to £7m. I've never heard of him before, but I trust the boys upstairs know what they are doing! If we do get him, I for one will definitely have problems shouting words of encouragement from the stands, as I dont think I'll be able to get my tongue round his name! I think I'm going to Christen him with his official nickname-- Azzy!!!
Does that sound OK to you boys?
 
Wonder how young Hutchinson feels ,busting his back, balls and arse for 2 years to get fit, and when he does ,we buy another right back, who doesn't look much more than ordinary to me.
 
CP -the deal is not yet done , and if it is, we will have he luxury of choice between Hutch and Azzy! Where will Branna go then? A scrap for two central defence places between Branna, Terry, Luiz and Cahill! I'm glad I'm not RDM!

BM, know what you mean, but don't you think Ivan has shown many times over he's much better at right back than CD ?? In fact he was urguably the best right back in the PL last season. I think he should be considered our #1 RB and an emergency CD. With Terry, Luiz and Cahill maybe its a CD we should be looking for???
Anyway, as you say, who'd be a Manager.
My only point , and I know I'm like a broken record, is, we're too quick to buy unknowns from outside, and too slow to give our youth a go.
 
CP--I'm with you all the way on letting our youth get a look in! I'm sure allowing them a chance in softer/ non-crucial fixtues is the best way to assess their quality and earn their stripes. On the other hand key fixtures must be left to those that have been there and done it!

Ivan should have no worry over a place. He's easily the best all round RB in the league. Azpillicueta and Hutch aren't near his standard. I'm still somewhat hoping we don't bother with the RB situation though...would still rather Hutch over anyone. Fan favourite in the making if he can get games I reckon.

That looks like you and I getting kitted up again BM2. My shorts are getting a bit tight !!
