Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas after his side's defeat at West Brom:
"It wasn't good enough, and it's not been good enough for quite some time. We are fifth and something is wrong.

"We don't win enough games and they are not numbers that make us proud. In football there is joy and there is pain. You have to ask the owners not me whether I will get another chance."

Sounds like a man who knows he's on borrowed time. I wonder if the bookies will still be taking bets on his inevitable sacking?

If Chelsea sack AVB they really are complete idiots, it doesn't take a braniac to see it's the players that are the problem, you had the exact same problems last season. 3/4 of your squad lack passion & commitment and don't put any effort in.

I honestly just don't know anymore. It's not possible to pinpoint any one problem, I think it's a combination of a hell of a lot of things but at the end of the day it comes down to the players not performing on the pitch and seemingly not even enjoying their football.

And it's the managers job to address these problems <doh>

    Clearly you're not a 'braniac'.

How can he address problems with some of them players? He drops Cole + Lamprd and gets a backlash, unrest from the dressing room and criticised by every man and his dog.
He then plays these players and then they play absoulete awful and he gets it in the neck again.
He can't address any problems untill the summer when he can sell and buy players.
Judging by last season and previous seasons for Chelsea some of their players can't be motivated unless its by Mourinho.

Saying that though, i don't suppose he helped relations with the players either after admitting Man City had a better squad than him yesterday lol.
If Chelsea do sack AVB who do they actually think they can bring in that would do better? Being honest you'd have to be either a idiot or hungry for a big compensation pack to manage Chelsea because why would anyone want their reputation ruined by getting sacked because some players decide to throw their toys out of their prams and cause unrest in the dressing room because they don't like being dropped

I agree with that to a point. Although, a top class manager wouldn't put up with any of that **** - like you suggested with regards to Mourinho.

At the end of the day, it's the managers job to man manage the players and it's clear that AVB can't do it with the current crop you have. He needed to stamp his authority on your club the minute he joined. Yeah giving him the summer to clear out and buy some new players may help - but that's a risk on many fronts.

I'm just chipping in from an outsiders point of view. But that's the way I see it. I'd personally want him out, he's far too inexperienced to lead one of the top clubs in the most competitive league to glory.

Me too mate, i don't support any Premier League club but i just don't like to see managers get sacked after such a short time, especially as Chelsea as they seem to do it all the time.
Do i think they should have hired him in the first place? No
But they did so they should give him one more season to see what he can do in the summer etc etc.
I think the manager is the problem to a extent but their players are to blame mostly, obviously i only watch the games that are on t.v and watch Football Focus but everything i read/see seems to be the players are just not performing, and most of this squad were still at Chelsea last season when they had the bad run last season.
Who knows what will happen, just have to see. I still can't believe Sheffield W sacked their manager the other day!!

I do feel for AVB because he's fighting certain elements in the dressing room and RA won't back him publicly.
At any other club, when a new manager arrives, the players have to impress him. At Chelsea, the manager has to impress certain players. It's a ridiculous state of affairs.
After we exit the CL the trouble makers should be sent to train with the reserves until the end of the season, then moved out of the club.
For the rest of this season we should go with the youngsters.
What have we got to lose? This madness has to stop. RA has to stop indulging these prima donnas NOW!

guess time to change my signature.. Lamp & Drog should go...

Lamp used to gripe - when not getting chance and he wouldn't mind if Chelsea wins.. well today he was leading the pack against WBA and still screw up..

Lamps if you are not helping the youngsters get out and if your manager doesn't know more than you do - help him for the sake of Chelsea..

these dressing room turmoils doesnt help the team one bit..

And to all the fans who prefer Drog over Torres - what difference did that make today or against Napoli?

Even if we lose against Napoli i would start Torres... and like they say bring Rafa back, may be he would get Torres firing again..

You have GOT to be joking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The gang of 5 would have him sweating like the fat spanish waiter he is in 30 secs.
The only thing that will get Torres , or Sturridge, or Drogba to score is a decent midfielder, not some overweight ponce with a bad haircut.
