we won't know ever imo. If we win the CL (crazy thought) then theres oodles of prize money thats now flooded in. The only way to know is to see free cash on hand on the balance sheet and whats the number for past 3 years. You can't just hide 100mil transfer kitty not spent form your balance sheet. If LFc have low transfer spend again this year relatively then this money can't have been piling up and VVD must have been out of coutinho money.... IF the balance sheets don't show it.
Keep Cout and who knows if we’d be in CL final. It’s no coincidence we’ve been more solid (not that it was hard) since he went and we played 3 proper CMs rather than 2 plus Cout.
Defending is a team effort. There are clear things that you can see VVD doing that helps that team effort. THe organisation and offisde line is much better for example There are clear things we can see robertson doing. He doesn't get done at far stick, his interceptions are good, he doesn't dive in and give frees away etc etc There are clear things TAA is improving in his game There are clear things karius does that mingolet wouldn't like coming out quicker and playing the ball faster. There are things the middle 3 do. like when windy plays he holds the ball more and doesn't give it away, etc etc there are things the front 3 do like supporting full backs and pressing etc. For me we have conceded goals lately from two things 1. silly errors. we silly make them 2. The team stops playing as a team. We are inclined to see the back 4 drop deep and stay deep and the front 3 stay high.. (neither willing to chase about) and the whole team gets stretched and gaps appear and we fall apart. for me our line needs to stay high and we need to compress the play so the pressing game works. but then the front 3 need to do the defensive work too.
