Well played you guys today - I'm not too disheartened as many an established Premier League team would have struggled to cope with your 1st half performance. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say the better team won
How many Chelsea fans would have liked to slapped Torres in the face like McGregor did today? Torres needs to repay some of that transfer fee!
Tiger --your lot did themselves proud today! We had enough firepower in the team and on the bench to give you a serious good hiding , but you had a resolve to make a match of it and came away with no points, but with your heads held high! If you approach every game like you did today you will get a place in the top half of the table! Good luck!
What's funny is, is that Swansea were, IMO, the better team all game against you guys; 4-1 wasn't a fair reflection at all. Chelsea against us yesterday however in the first half, played some of the best football I've ever seen an opposition play against us. They looked much better than Manchester United did.
Agreed. We were superb in the first 30 then backed off in the second half... typical Jose! Tbf we have got a game v Villa on Wednesday though. It reminded me of 05/6 when we would try to win the game in the first half and coast in the second and stop scoring (which used to frustrate many Chelsea fans). Hull gave it a good go in the second but terry and Iva were superb. we looked well drilled and organised for the first time in ages, and unlike under Rafa, could defend a lead!!
Thank God the Chelsea players decided to put their foot of the gas because it could have got embarrassing for us. Although it could be argued that the addition of Huddlestone and Livermore gave us a bit more teeth and creativity in midfield added to their Premier League experience. It didn't help that we were playing Koren in the first half (as he doesn't defend at all). I've always liked José Mourinho, he's a respectful manager and an honest guy. I reckon he's got the Title and/or a Cup this year at least. However, is Champions League the necessary accolade in order to remain in charge now?
I think even our insane Owner must surely grasp that we are not going to win the Champions League EVERY year. Not fussed about the CL now tbh, we have won it. I want to get back to winning the league, our bread and butter. CL is nice, just to say we have won it, but the PL should be our priority this year.
Because really, with the players, Manager and playing style of this Chelsea side, I think the Champions League is a realistic aim and probably should be the aim for Mourinho. I think you'll blaze the Premier League this year, the midfield link-up play is just a joy to watch and it's always easier to take a loss when you lose to clear quality. I think Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea are the teams looking most likely for European success IMO. Good luck for the rest of the Season anyway (apart from the return fixture at the KC Stadium of course ).
It IS a realistic aim, but at the end of the day it is a knockout competition, so one bad draw, one bad day at the office, one bad refs decision etc can get you knocked out. For any team with title aspirations, winning the PL should be priority 1, unless you are already the Champions, then perhaps the CL is 1 then defending your title is 2. But for me, unless you are champions, becoming champions should be #1
Great to see Coincidence he's been given a United v Chelsea game the first time the two sides have met since Fergie's been gone?
Maybe Juve and PSG to reach latter stages too. We need two world class strikers to win CL and one to win the prem
wow great.. it is good to find it is not just me.. Moanu were playing swans, like Hull played us...getting 10 men behind the ball and waiting for the stronger Swans to commit a mistake and hit them on break.. Swans were all over that s#itty moanu side.. without RvP no way it would have been 1-4!! Back to our match - Second half, JM took the foot off considering Wednesday against Villa.
