Good plan, trouble is, when we get the run of tough fixtures again, we'll fall back behind again. We won't even beat United this season. Also, Leicester and Everton would qualify as "winnable" games but we were poor there, so this season we can't bank on anything.

Ozil is getting the flack on here, deservedly so, but I though WIlshere put in his usual sloppy display, and when he got his shine to shine he did the old Jimmy Greaves line of "trapping the ball further than I can kick it". It depends on what you expect....In terms of achieving top 4, then its achievable again, winning these games we should, and failing in the big games...But if you're looking to win the league, then yeah it ain't happening. I think it's pretty clear we're not going to win the title this year, we've even regressed in terms of challenging compared to last season, we have shown nothing so far or any indications of being able to crown ourselves as champions, it's another fight for a top 4 place sadly.

As for rose tinted and spin job and all the other nonsense a few of you like to come out with, it just doesn't exist. I haven't seen anyone spinning anything. All the comments from the supposed rose tinted brigade have been balanced assessments taking into account the negative position we find ourselves whilst still being able to discuss positives and other influences on the game. You seem to hate if anyone doesn't just accept your view that everything is **** and nothing can be discussed except for us being ****.
Welbeck (and Giroud imo) will always be great backup strikers. Brilliant to come off the bench or fill in when your main man is injured. But they can't BE your main man. Since Thierry Henry you've not had a consistent world-class striker iirc. It's just not good enough for a club like Arsenal. Especially when you consider how many the likes of Chelsea, United, City have been buying. It really is the difference in my opinion.

I think Welbeck and Giroud will get a good amount of goals between them this season. But when you look at players like Costa, they're a different thing altogether. Costa will get goals and win games for Chelsea even when they are playing ****. We can play well (like today) and still not manage a shot on target and that has to change.

I haven't blamed the ref for the defeat I've just made observations on his performance. You just refuse to hear anything that doesn't basically say "everything arsenal is ****".
yup....PISKIE did. But yeah other than that, this is stupid. Wenger is **** and needs to go imo. But at the end of the day try to see the positives in all of this. You get in the Cl every year, and may sneak a cup win or two in the next three years before you start challenging for the title again. No one has a divine right to challenge every year. I understand it must be frustrating to have a good squad and see them get results like this, I was the same when we had AVB in charge. But it wont last forever. Maybe the "Rose tinted" guys or whatever you call them just dont want to get all Wrist slitty over a football match. Its not ALL doom and gloom.
That's why I deliberately put in "consistent". There's not much wrong with Arsenal tbh. You'll carry on beating 75% of the other prem teams. You'll demolish plenty of them as well. You just don't have that fear factor when it comes to the big clubs you come up against. And without that fear factor you'll also have some of the other teams that will feel comfortable giving you a go and pulling off a draw. If we were playing you, I'd worry about your midfield, they can open up anyone and get the ball forward and in dangerous areas. But I'd always feel comfortable that chances are you won't have anyone to bang in the goals.
