As the guy above said, at least there's the international break now, time to moan about how Woy is destroying our international reputation.
We used very clearly different tactics today compared to mid week against Galatasaray so that's your 7 games all with the same tactics blown out of the water just by looking back as far as Wednesday...
More annoyed with the result vs Spurs & Leicester and the manner how we drew vs City than today. We need a string of wins ASAP (I'm thinking a 32 game winning streak in the league) because it seems like we build up momentum then lose it then have to build it again.
They tactics weren't clearly very different. The opposition meant the outcome was entirely different.
no , we only play one way . The Shape may change , but thats about it. Galatasaray were poor , thats the only reason we won . Dont flatter Arsenal for that win . You can fool everyone else , but dont try to fool yourself.
We utilized the 4-2-3-1 versus Gala. Today we flooded the midfield with Jack-Santi-Flamini (who were very solid) as CMs and DMs while sticking Ozil and Sanchez on the wing. It definitely helped to combat the Chelsea edge in the midfield but sadly it also left us mostly laying the ball down the middle.
So even when we win don't praise the players, manager, etc... It's just the opposition were poor. But had Chavski done that to Gala it'd have been because they neutralized and dominated Gala not because Gala were poor. Criticizing losses and poor performances is fine but don't try and put your f**ing spin job to discredit good performances and wins.
Against Galatasaray we played a 4141 formation with ozil and Cazorla playing as advanced playmakers. We regularly played with four players against there back line and flamini sat alone in front of the back four. We played a very attacking game with a high line. Against Chelsea we played a 433 with Cazorla sitting deeper to make it a middle three instead of playing a more advanced playmaker role. We sat deep and didn't overcoming when we went forward. We packed out the midfield to make things difficult for them and looked to Welbeck and Sanchez on the break. It was only after they scored that we got more expansive and really only after 60 or so minutes that we started to break our shape and really look for a goal. We went for different players with players who could keep the ball preferred over the explosive running of oxocube. It was very clearly a different setup, different players, different formation and a different game plan (confirmed by wenger before the game).
I'm not talking about why we won, I was pointing out that we used different tactics in both games. Which we did.
by no means ...but you dont fool yourself into thinking suddenly you are Real Madrid on crack . If we had beat Chelsea today , who would have siad the oppostion was poor . No one . But Gal were poor . Its no good saying they werent . We beat them because they were not good, and we were better . But in the PL we can SEE how good we are . Its not hard . Check the results. They dont lie.
i have watched arsenal for years and it looks like there is a problem. great players are not playing there games at all. wilshere and ozil and sanchez are examples. they are doing ok but they are not at the top of there game. what is wrong with arsenal?
We haven't even built any momentum so far this season for it to have been taken away and for us to start from scratch again, we have been at scratch since the start of the season. 7 games, 2 wins, 4 draws, and 1 loss is hardly what you call having any momentum for it to have been taken away, we have been simply piss poor.
so now we are below Man U ****ed. Spurs . Even West ham . and im still not excited ........does that surprise you ?
We have areas for improvement at Arsenal, but some people do want to try and oversimplify it. I thought the tactics were good today we pressed from the front and fell back into almost a a 4-5-1 when we lost the ball. For me the problem today wasn't the tactics, but we could have been more incisive when we broke. Also Chelsea are the masters at holding onto a lead and then hitting teams on the break. We were slightly unfortunate to go behind and from then we were really up against it. The result is ****, but overall it wasn't a bad performance from us.
how so .? Sanchez got caught dallying (again ) They got the ball . Kos crunched him . Penalty . Goal . which part was "unfortunate "
