The best way to deal with a cheat like Costa (and I know it will be very difficult) is to not rise to his taunts, gestures, kicks. nudges & all his other dirty tricks. If possible smile @ him & really rile HIM. He is more likely to do something rash & regularly get red cards which may encourage even Mourinho to take some action instead of supporting his player.
So he gets away with scratching Gabriel? Where's the consistency? He didn't see the slap? Charged. He didn't see the scratch? No charge. Can someone please explain why the FA and officials are so inept. Two incidents were missed but only one was punished? FA suits them perfectly, it's all they do.
Food for thought: To stamp out the kind of play by plonkers like Costa and the like of his manager in condoning this type of behaviour, why don't the FA introduce a more fair punishment such as to affect the team as a whole and therefore makes it fair for the team that has be unfairly treated in this case Arsenal (it could have been any team). As the rules currently stand Costa may well get a circa 3 match ban, thus making him ineligible to play the next 3 matches. In the meantime, Arsenal were 0-0 at the point of the incidents (40 odd mins played) that Costa has been now charged in retrospect by the FA. Arsenal go on to lose the match for whatever reasons (I wont say it's because we were unfairly treated, but it did affect the game/outcome potentially). Why not just deduct the team an amount of points (1, 2 or 3) depending on the severity of the case and that way the rest of the teams in the league get an equal benefit of the foul play by the likes of Costa and the condoning of this type of play by his manager. I also believe Costa should be banned for the next upcoming fixture against the team he committed the offence, thus helping to square up the disadvantage from the offending players game where the offence took place. Hope all that made some sense!
.If are you are referring to the"What do we think of Tottenham" incident,Wilshere didn't say it whilst on a bus
Makes complete sense and fair. It's a team game, so the team should be punished collectively. It doesn't make any difference to the team that suffers from the cheating if the player in question is punished afterwards, all this does is to give advantage to other teams.
Arsenal's appeal against defender Gabriel's red card during Saturday's defeat by Chelsea has been successful. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34329563
Costa given 3 match ban - so that's the FA basically admitting that Costa should have gotten a red card and not Gabriel in the game
Im not a conspiracy theorist when it comes to referee's but I have always hated Mike Dean. Too many bad decisions for us over the years.
