Chelsea v Wolves line-ups and discussion

Discussion in 'Chelsea' started by BackStabbed, Nov 26, 2011.

  1. That was a good win for your guys today. You never looked threatened at any point in that game, and a few doubts would have been eradicated.

It's important that that remains the case, because I need your lot to hold off 4th spot from either 'Pool or Arsenal, for the rest of the season <ok>

That was almost a good comment <doh>

Good win for Spurs though, I wondered what they'd do after going 1-0 down but responded well.

On another note how good was we today, thought Romeu was absouletely outstanding and has just proved Mikel should never play another game for us, what a young star, thought sturridge was unbelievable again and we really should get a right winger and play sturridge down the middle or go back to the diamond and have mata in the CAM position with sturridge and torres up front. Mata was quality aswell great 2 assists and a goal, defence looked very good but still the odd mistake at times, Luiz had a great game though as did Ash, great header from Terry as well. Good 3 points, and Drog did do alright but i still felt we could of done with Torres in this game because we could have used just that extra bit of pace and spark. Lets hope this is the start of a new run - a long winning 1 !!

Nice win, very pleased with a solid performance for once. However bigger tests to come in the next couple of weeks, this needs to be the spingboard to a decent run upto xmas to ignite our season.

Wonder who will play up front against Liverpool?? I think perhaps Anelka, Lukaku and Malouda.

AVB has made the statement that the team(largely reserves) who we put out against our first cup opponents Fulham, would be fielded throughout the competition, even if they made the final! If Liverpool field their kiddies as King Kenny has threatened the it looks like we may make it to Wembley after all.

I think we need to play Mata and Torres, Lukaku has been dire and I'd prefer to see him out on loan for a few months first to another PL club. Josh and Romeu should play with Lamps seeing as he was benched on Sat. Bertrand for Cole and Ferreira for Ivan. The rest I'd keep the same.

I'd be tempted to play Mikel and save Romeu for the weekend!!

I'd be shocked if Torres or Mata plays. 3 from Anelka, Malouda, Kalou, Lukaku. and 3 from Mikel, Lampard, Josh, Meireles depending on who he thinks will play at the weekend. Alex, Bertrand, Paulo etc are all good shouts for the back 4.

Personally I'd play near enough the first team barring the odd change like say Bertrand, Romeu and Alex (especially with terry on a ban) but can't see AVB doing this.

This game has added importance now given they beat us 2 weeks ago and given we really need to start a run of form going.

Yeah, I feel at this stage we should mix the youth with the first team and feel them in rather than throw a load of inexperience in there and then expect them to play with the first team well at the weekend. I think it'll be:

    Turnbull

    Bos
    Alex
    Luiz
    Bertand

    Mikel
    Josh
    Lamps

    Anelka
    Lukaku
    Kalouda

    I would go for:

    Cech

    Ivan
    Alex
    Luiz
    Bertrand

    Romeu
    Josh
    Lamps

    Sturridge/Anelka
    Torres
    Anelka/Mata

Malouda is too greedy, Kalou is.... well we all know what Kalou is!

That's a shame Drogs because I was talking to Kalou the other day and he thinks the world of you. <laugh>

    Not a chance.

Not in Europe, not in the title race, FA cup not till Jan. Do you really think they will just throw away their best chance of silverware? That rant from Kenny was a load of hot air really (though I can understand his frustration). Fully expect like us, him to play a blend of 1st team, youth and fringe players.

This will be as tight as all Chelsea v Liverpool games invariably are and a good chance to see who we want to buy from them in Jan!!

I'll be very suprised if Torres doesn't start, that would be 4 games in a row without a start !
