Fair enough but the bottom line is that you wouldn't care how we played if you had won. Its only an issue because you lost. You've had a good run against teams that have played to YOUR strengths. Jose doesnt do that.
Exactly how I feel Gaz, and nice to get someone on topic, not just cat calling, boy that gets tiresome.
Apart from the £100 million you need to rebuild your defence do you feel embarrassed that you now have to spend another £80-100mil on two strikers that would come to £400 million and all you have is 3rd/4th spot.
Predicting next season, who do you fancy for 1st/2nd then? Never mentioned buying strikers, just said we need two new ones as in not RVP or Falcao
It's obvious that it would only be a complete idiot who would take up the option of Failcao and RVP is too old and injury prone. As you have not much after those two a dip into the market looks nailed on. Chelsea will win back to back titles before united and city's billions buy there way back into contention with Arsenal 2nd.
Hernandez, Wilson, Keane? (Harry kane has come through this year so don`t write the last two off out of hand) Do you really see Arsenal as your only challengers?
Certainly was. Imagine being a coward and not setting up the side top of the league to out play a side.
Realistically yes but you'll be in the mix but won't have the required dangly bits with Long ball Gaal steering the ship. He has already forked out almost £200 million on 7 players of which 5 have been a disappointment. But I'm sure another £150 million will guarantee you a champions league place.
Well well well, we march on. Another crucial 3 points and a large step towards the title. Seen a lot about possession stats, United fans increasingly sounding like Arsenal fans these days. Top 4 trophies, possession etc Seems LVG is quite obsessed with keeping the ball, been a while since I've seen a keeper as involved in the game from a possession point of view as De Gea; the ball was constantly being played back to him. Nothing wrong with having the ball of course, as long as you use it well and create when in the final third - which United rarely did. Least they had that impressive bench they could rely on. Di Maria and Janujaz were great when they came on Costa can't come back soon enough for us though. Drogba (legend) bless him looks well short of what we need as back up.
Agreed. It gives them something to cling on to when they lose the match bless em. Like we will give a **** about possession stats when JT is lifting that trophy above his head and pissing them all off. I saw that True Geordie's review of the game and he made me piss myself, said watching Drogba was like watching Hulk Hogan wrestle when he came back to WWE. It was cool because it was Hulk Hogan, but kinda like Meh, because it was clear he couldn't cut it amongst the youngsters. I think that was an apt analogy. Didn't really know much about LvG as a person before he came to England, obviously I had heard of him and knew of his record, but as a person? Geez!!!! If he gets rattled that easily Jose is gonna eat him up for breakfast with the mind games. His post match interview with the BBC? I was legitimately frightened for the interviewer.
Next year is the key one for LVG. This season was surely just about bedding in all the new signings and getting back in the C.L. Anything else would have been a bonus. However that's 2 seasons without a trophy and a LOT of money now spent post Fergie. He'll have to at the very least challenge for the title next year whilst also juggling the C.L. I think they will but United next year could as easily be this season's Liverpool.
This is true for a few reasons. 1 He went to Monaco at his absolute peak - Not a winning mentality, wanting to live with millionaires and playing in front of 20 people + Bono at home games. 2 He is 29, got a cruciate injury at the worst possible time of his career. 3 He'll be 30 by the start of next season so was never a long term option even if he was not crooked. It was a massive "hope" punt. £5 million per goal. Value for money? seems legit
van Gaal was such a #tacticalgenius, his setup meant Luke "man boobs" shaw was United's most creative player. When I seen Dive Maria and JermanJizzy come on I thought "eh up, here comes Team Force Dive" Allowing United to move the ball across and down the sides and back and across and keeping solid, if that is "United winning the possession" then I remember 2 seasons ago Liverpool were "winning the possession" but losing games, and the mancs were all giving it socks. Does arrogance cause long term memory loss?
