Which makes your hatred of Rafa (for other understandable reasons) counter productive. When Big M was around, who was the only other manager that set his team up the same way? No goals against, 1-0 wins to carry you through? You've got a manager that gets hard over the idea of efficiency. By the end I wasn't what you call a Rafa lover (didn't hate him)
You can't say that you will score loads at our place based on that performance, we will play nothing like that on our own patch. Yes your right Norwich scored 4 (have you seen the goals, all on the counter) but we still scored 3. We rarely don't score on our own patch. I'm gonna say 1-1 at the liberty. We won't go all guns blazing but we won't play like that either.
At the end of the day, if we score a goal early on to go 1-0 up, anything can happen and the atmosphere changes.
No wonder you don't seem confident with your suggestion. You talk about overrated and then suggest Modric. Not only are they different types of midfielders, but Modric only has a good game once in every 3 matches. His 2 goals and 2 assists per season won't get you very far either. He's got a very good pass rate, but that's the only thing he has going for him. Even AVB realised how overrated he was. For £33m he would have been willing to carry him to Real on his back.
Oh absolutely I'm not disputing that, I just don't think you can use this match as anything to go by in the return leg. It will be a different game entirely.
It means that Ivanovic needs to stop making stupid mistakes, whitout those mistakes we don't concede as Swansea did very little in attack. If Ba starts (and he will if fit) we will score, i'm confident of that. If we can score enough is the real question for me.
Lads... calm down... it's all ok.... The last two teams we played away in a cup competition played in white at home and we beat them both 5-1 (Leeds and Southampton)... Swansea play in white... it's all going to be just fine.... *ahem*
When we score first that will kill the game off.....Its in our hands now and ours to lose but we have the great Sir M Laudrup and he wont let that happen not at our place and our first ever cup final at wembley to look forward to....I wonder who we will play????
Bucks, one thing your fans don't realise about our place but you will be able to confirm this, if we do go a goal behind a lot seem to think the atmosphere will change. Well you went 1 up in the league game and I remember you commenting that our fans got even louder and roared the team on which would happen again of the same thing happened. No matter what I expect that both sets of fans will be up for it an it should be a cracking atmosphere
I wouldn't get too ahead of yourself.... we thought we were dead certs to win this competition and look what happened... anything can happen
