RLC is pretty much Chelsea's only attacking option though. And they've already had to use it. If they continue to not break though, all they're really left with is bringing on Cesc to dictate from deep. Yes it's not a bad Chelsea bench, but nor is it a scary one.
Whispering Dave Merrington with a startingly incisive comment: "What Saints don't want to do here is concede before half time" Brilliant! I can see why they employ him, with that sort of observation
Happy with that first half. Very disciplined, kept our shape well. Romeu very impressive again (off the ball anyway).
Yoshida and Valery playing really well. Valery was shakey for the first few minutes but since he's been superb. everyone very organised.
statistically, the longer Chelsea go without scoring the better the chance we win and the longer we go without scoring the better the chance we win. Work that one out!
I only saw the last 15 minutes, so maybe my view is somehow skewed, but that seemed horrifically one sided? Did we actually have the ball in the previous 30 minutes? Every time we get forward a sloppy touch gifts it straight back... Defensively good, offensively poor (from the 15 I saw).
Tonight we needed the Romeu who won Saints player of the year a few seasons ago. And so far, we've had it. He's been superb.
