Doubt we'll get anywhere with it. Its one of those moronic ones where the still DTLW posted will justify and all context and common sense is irrelevant.
If we had history of backing up this sort of performance (ie with a win next game), I'd be fine. But we've literally just been through playing well against the bigger sides (but not winning), only to follow it up with a horrible performance in a game that matters. So yeah, good performance today, well done. But I'm not reading anything into it, or taking anything from it.
Is there a worse side in the PL at adapting to 10 men, both when attacking and defending? We seem to concede within 5-10 mins every time we get a player sent off. Equally when an opposition side gets a player sent off they turn into an impenetrable fortress.
So frustrated. Like the manager and like the team for their endeavour. Fine margins with some of these bloody decisions though.
Meh. Shame to lose points because of **** decisions again, but Chelsea are very decent so whatever. Need to start winning the winnable games.
We've been fiercely unlucky with decisions in a couple of these big games. Today's one was harsh (but okay, I can see why it's given, I just think it's harsh in context - he had to go for it), and the 'non penalty' against City. We were on top before that today, and good for at least the draw. We should have probably beaten City. Those decisions aren't on Ralph, he's managed both games well. But yes, agreed, we need to follow this up against teams that will defend against us, not just go at us.
I think it might be a cultural thing. You see big scores in Spain/Germany when the big teams play the little teams and it’s because smaller teams don’t tend to just play for a draw like they do here. There isn’t really a need to know how to break teams down because you don’t get many park the bus type games in those leagues. Ralph does well in games where we are underdogs because the other team isn’t putting men behind the ball constantly. Games where we are favourites and teams do put men behind the ball we struggle. Personnel is obviously an issue as well but we don’t really create much when we do have loads of the ball Not a criticism of Ralph really just an observation that before coming here he wouldn’t have encountered park the bus type teams very often
Atkinson really has it in for Saints. Do not understand his interpretation of fouls this afternoon by/on Saints.
Sliding tackle from behind. Contact after the ball has gone. Studs showing. Rakes the achilles. Red all day long, I'm afraid. Shame it was JWP. you know there was never any intent.
It'll be there. Along with Lampard and Howe. Genuinely think that the people on FB have never actually watched a football game before, such is their level of input.
We really need to start scoring. 5 goals from 7 games (of which 2 were penalties) doesn't instil confidence
