That's that then. Howard Webb is on whistle duty Saturday...

As if the task for Newcastle was tough enough, it's impossible now!

No Tiote. Awesome. Think we've just gone from 2-0 or 3-0 to something much more resounding, to be honest.

He's done his hamstring. Going to be out for at least 3 games apparently. Hamstring injuries are dodgy but I trust Pardew to rush his return resulting in a setback which sidelines him for the rest of the season.

Chelsea usually don't go for the kill. Mourinho will choose his score. Probably 3-0 again.

Usually for whatever reason we seem to do alright against Chelsea. Think I'm going to be watching this one from behind the sofa tho. No Tiote / no Gouff / no Remy. We are in deep...

Kemen has traveled with the squad today. Maybe Pardew is going to blood youngsters now we have nothing left to play for this season.

    that's what I'd do.
All we need to do is unearth one gem and it will pay dividends.

Very disappointed Yanga-Mbiwa hasn't come back in (what does he have to do Pardew? And for that matter, what must Taylor do not to get dropped?). But Santon in midfield can't hurt. May as well give it a go.

And at least there's no Shola.

The Liverpool game is making me feel pessimistic that this could be a day for big scores. I was feeling optimistic about our unpredictability earlier in the week, but today that seems to have ben taken over by a sense of impending doom. :(

Yeah it could get out of hand with the lack of ostensible defensive cover and Taylor playing.

We seemed to have turned a corner on not throwing in the towel when the game was lost but what I saw last week was a team beaten as soon as Sunderland scored. If we do that today they will score a lot more than three.

That said, if we lose heavily because Chelsea are brilliant (which they can be) I'll take it on the chin. I just want to see a bit of heart today. Another performance like last week and I think it becomes a very dangerous situation for the stability of the team, squad and club going forward.

Shame Cove isn't here to tell us how well de Jong is suited to the lone striker role. Glad to see he's ahead of Shola.

Santon on the wing is interesting and is what everyone has been calling for for a good while. Sammy deserves another chance based on his decent Norwich showing. Ben Arfa needs to start putting in some performances.

Disappointing that Taylor is still ahead of Mbiwa.
