If ever a win was richly and poetically deserved it was that one. Chelsea were cynical from the kick off and the ref was either weak, or bent, to let them get away with it. As we all know football is seldom fair and cheats often prosper, but not today. VVD was immense, not just in scoring the winner but in captaining the team and organising. Again Endo played a great game breaking up play and getting tackles in. I thought Elliott played well especially after we lost Gravenberch. The kids came on and played their part. Very happy, and not just because I have probably had far to many Champion beers (7.3%), however I am not looking forward to the 6.30 am start in the morning.
Special mention for Diaz, he ran himself into the ground today and was dead on his feet at the end. He'll be over the moon that he didn't have to take a penalty
