Sickening really after doing so well but allowing Hazard just far too much room.

Bennett should have blocked him for 1st and whilst it was a debatable free kick for 2nd nobody then picked him up.

Just hope we can get some corners as no way they’ll score in open play.

Someone tell me why when you’re losing 2-1 you play so deep and have no bodies up the field.<confused>

And why you take off a player who almost equalised the minute before?<confused>

    Bamba<doh>

Expected to lose but that was disappointing.

I was disappointed to see us using the long ball and handing possession straight back to Chelsea.
NW needs to stamp this out asap.
In another post I suggested we try and retain possession and 23% possession against a top team is not going to cut it.
Ward had as good a game as he was going to get given those marking him and having to hunt for the ball. I thought he was outstanding given the opposition.
Our defence played as best they could, but the 4 goals were not unexpected by many.
We played a top team and the gulf in standards showed clearly over 90 minutes.

Still the midfield is our problem. I actually want to see how Gunnar goes in there. I know many here think we shouldn't have resigned him, but I would like to see if he gives us a little more in transition from defense to midfield.

Happy with Ward but we need a midfield!

    Hoilett...sigh. Manga...sigh.

Agree Hoilett was poor again. Bit unfair on Manga, though......thought our problems were through the middle, not so much on the flanks...no protection for the back four from midfield ..interesting to see what happens when Gunnar is up and running.

Manga tries hard...no doubt. But he gives away possession so often with an errant pass. I agree the middle of the park was our biggest problem. I hope Gunnar gives us something extra.

    Gunnar - to replace who?

Arter is creative and a driving force with pace. He was unwell yesterday which is why he got hiked at half time.

Camarasa gets better with each game.

Ralls has been consistent in the more defensive role.

Ralls is the likely candidate but very tough on him.

Hoilett has not been the same player but is up against better defenders. When Murphy is fit he must come in for Holiett.

Ralls.....simple really. Arter and Camarasa have been our best players (along with Bennet & Ethel). Agree it will be a bit unfair on Ralls who, to be fair, has run himself into the ground, but who says football has to be fair....and lets be honest we are missing something in this area of the field....give Gunnar a start instead of Ralls and see if it improves things...if it don't work out, then Joe will still be around.

I'm not disagreeing but from a different point of view, many on here have been questioning Gunnar's ability and whether or not we should have resigned him.

I guess we will get Warnock's steer on this next Saturday.

Gunner is nowhere near as good as Ralls.

Simply no way that will be the change.

We are going to rotate at some point so Gunnar will simply be a part of that rotation. Gives him a chance to show if he has anything to give.

Time will tell Hilts.....I simply disagree with your statement that 'Gunnar is nowhere near as good as Ralls'....Gunnar has been there, done it, and performed at the highest level, and he's got (had) the beard to prove it...Ralls still seems somewhat lacking so far at the top level...I'm sure he'll come good but for now it's Gunnar every time..my opinion only, of course, and I'm not so smug to think that I can't be be wrong, but hey how...we'll see.

Arter 2 yellows from a week off. Natural rotation?

Burnley is the key game. Luckily Arter will be available now unless hes sent off.

We cant afford to lose Arter or Ralls for the key games.

    Hoilett is just so slow.

Unfortunately Murphy & Mendez are injured.

Worth giving Kadeem Harris a run out if Murphy unfit next game.

Gunnarsson would have suited yesterday’s game.

A worry IMO is our defence. 7 goals needlessly conceded due largely to backing off and not marking tightly.

The defence has to get wise to the pace of the opposition runners.

Got shouted down big time a few months ago for having a go at this fella, but was told I was a silly old twat! Had his head turned and we should rejoice in what he did last season, but not a PL player! Like a cart horse TBH! Silly old twat, Me? :emoticon-0103-cool:
